Assuming of course the proper channels are used to purchase/transfer the gun, as he suggested, the reporter is making way too big of a deal out of it. It’s not like he’s giving them to kids…
It really isn’t any different than haggling to get an extra $500 off a new car, then using that money to buy an AK.
One suggestion though – see if you can use the voucher to buy a 12-gauge shotgun or large caliber hangun – either would be way better for any real-world home defense purposes…but if you really want a rifle, see if you can get an SKS with an aftermarket stock.
If it gets to the point where we really need assault rifles to defend ourselves, we are in deep, deep trouble.

so funny rick, i was thinking : “I’d rather get a shotgun”…. and i even contemplated the hypothetical situation of having been given a voucher and then asking the deal to just let me get a Mossberg!
