TRUMP SAYS: HUNTER MAKES FORTUNE FROM SHADY DEALS!
BIDEN FAMILY STINKS TO HIGH HEAVENS OF CORRUPTION!
DON'T GET LEFT OUT: HUNTER MUST BE STOPPED!
Finding the right place to live can be a daunting task. And for those looking to strategically relocate out of major cities to a more sustainable and free lifestyle it could be even more challenging. From balancing your professional needs and familial goals, to finding just the right mix of acreage, security and natural resources, getting into that perfect home may seem like a far off dream at times.
Traditional assessments surrounding the concept of strategic relocation are often directed at limited regions or areas of the country, making it that much more difficult for people who have extended family or jobs in a certain city to leave those high population density areas.
Moreover, for many who have made the choice to head out to the country into an ex-urban or rural environment, the prospect of finding a home that meets all their criteria often ends with lackluster results. Perhaps they find a property with a water well and acreage, but it is so far removed from modern-day infrastructure that they can’t perform their professional duties because of lack of internet or activities for the kids are so far away that it becomes an impossible decision to make.
And if you’ve ever used one of the big real estate web sites out there to try and find a home you’ve likely come to realize that they aren’t there to cater to the needs of the modern day homesteader, prepper or survivalist. While these work great for those looking to stay in urban centers or suburbia, you’re not so much interested with amenities like a club house, community pool or tennis courts. Rather, your focus is on things like the existence of a water well, defensibility or food production feasibility.
It’s because of these challenges that survival property professional Todd Savage has teamed up with the world’s foremost strategic relocation specialist Joel Skousen to build the most comprehensive and user-friendly real estate portal on the internet now easily accessible at www.StrategicRelocation.com.
In addition to the advanced search tools that allow a user to filter thousands of properties by factors that include land topography, water accessibility, energy creation, fencing and vegetation, Strategic Relocation’s For Sale By Owner property listings also provide a survival rating that takes hundreds of factors into account to determine a strategic relocation score for a particular property.
The following post from Joel Skousen appears on the Strategic Relocation Blog and provides some additional insights into the new web site and how you can use it to find that perfect home anywhere in the United States of America (or internationally):
(Courtesy World Affairs Brief) This week, the long-awaited Strategic Relocation real estate website for FSBO and Agents has launched—a joint venture between myself and the team at Survival Retreat Consulting (SRC). I have given a considerable amount of advice and consultation to the formation of this website and highly recommend it. Todd Savage, owner and Nick Matthews, Worldwide Operations Manager have joined forces to create a Survival Property Listing website where visitors can search and find rural retreats in their chosen safe haven—almost all are currently in the West but that will change and expand as the site grows in listings.
The site will primarily focus on sustainable rural homes and land (with occasional commercial opportunities) and allows a seller to handle their own ad listing right from home. Each listing allows up to 100 photos and 4 videos as well as a nice topographical map of the retreat for the discerning buyer to evaluate. Sellers may also elect to have either myself or the SRC Team evaluate and rate the property.
Buyers will thus have access to significant information to decide if a property is worth investigating further. Most confidential information (safe rooms, concealed storage rooms and other high security features) will not be presented so as to preserve the property’s secure features for the new buyer. If some confidential items are revealed, the address and location will be concealed. There is nothing worse than buying a secure home where hundreds of people already know about all the sensitive features and where to find it. It will be left to the seller to decide when to reveal to a qualified buyer (privately) the special features of the home.
There will be a fixed, but reasonable listing fee for ads placed on the site, with zero commission fees whatsoever. The SRC team is now just adding properties, and they would appreciate everyone spreading the word to help kick off this exceptional venue for all.
A future addition to the site will feature a Relocation Forum where visitors will be able to post their opinions about where they live or other locations with which they have experience. Visitors will be about to research the pros and cons of their own locations as well as prospective new areas. I’ll let you know when this feature is up and running.
We expect this to quickly become the “go to” website for finding or selling preparedness property, so I would like to extend an invitation to all of you to visit the website at www.StrategicRelocation.com and spread the word!

Easier said than done, especially at this late date.
I think i will just stay where i’m at on the end of my dead end road .
But the listing service is a good idea, i have met a few realtors that “quietly” cater to folks looking for a BOL or small farm type situation.
They send me leads for jobs from people who recently bought a home and need things like “safe rooms” or even root cellars .
There may be more preppers out there than we realize , i have noticed alot of laywers of late looking for added security measures around or in their homes.
We had a very tough time finding a suitable property… Zillow, Trulia, etc. cater to mass market home sales… often one can’t even find accurate acreage information on those types of sites… So, I agree, a listing service specifically designed for these kinds of properties is a huge service for the, as some estimates indicate, 3 million+ preppers out there.
The great thing with this site is that we no longer have to focus on a single ‘relocation’ zone in the Pacific Northwest / Redoubt area…. some people simply cannot go to that area… But the US is a huge area of land — we have options and there are, in my view, plenty of relocation areas in just about every part of the country… Nothing will be 100% perfect, but the possibilities are out there and can be catered to our specific needs.
I think Todd has set up an incredible service here, and the fact the Joel Skousen is on board and actively helping with property ratings and consulting is a huge plus and a unique service not found anywhere else.
It’s just going to make it easier for people to have their own little ‘dead end road’ in a nice, quiet and safe community 🙂
I would like to add that Google earth is a good tool to use when searching properties.
It will give you some insite to the condition of the land and you nieghbors as well 😉
I’m staying right where I’m at till they take me out in a box.
I always believed picking a secure location
was the first and foremost requirement for
the prepper/survivalist.
Any secondary preps without a safe place to
harbor them becomes a burden to protect rather
than being an asset to live.
7 days a week? Yikes Defiant….
Maybe it is just my years of web experience and natural cynicism coming through, but it sounds like a good attraction for scammers and con artist to find victims.
Buyer beware on ANY property. If it is worth having, a local will buy it. If it is not, you will find it posted on the proposed forum…
We found all of our ground under the radar. Good stuff is long gone by the time u see it in the Sunday paper.
Not Really. There is lots of stuff out there still. You have to look & be prepared to pay the price to get something that is set up now as there is no time to tweak the property they way u want.
S em, you do have a very valid point, price. Everything can be had for a price. We are in the tweak mode on our properties never finishing. It is a journey with no end.
Google Earth is a great tool, the only problem is its at least 6 months out of date.
“The great thing with this site is that we no longer have to focus on a single ‘relocation’ zone in the Pacific Northwest / Redoubt area”
Thank you for making this point.
One of the best places to be might be the mass of a cave, tunnel, or something that can shield someone from radiation and fallout. It doesn’t have to be a nuclear war either like is very probable. If and when there is an EMP, those nuclear reactors, some several hundred around the world could go critical and become mini or full blown Fukushimas. So little planning goes into radiation protection because people often feel that it is unsurvivable, which is a huge misnomer. Even if the nations went nuclear with cobalt bombs there would be areas that would remain untouched or liveable.
RETREATS are dangerous to depend on because someone might not be able to reach them in time. Bad calamities can come on quickly, nuclear war can reach someone in minutes. Other disasters hit without any warning at all. Can someone reach a retreat many miles away in minutes? NO. Something to think about.
The main objective in general is to get as far away from the competetion for raw supplies. The more food, water, and other necessities per person that there is, the less chance of confrontation, deadly often, and the better chance someone has to survive the harsher times. Big cities, ALL of them are death traps that require outside help to sustain themselves. They are also giant petri dishes fopr explding disease, bacteria, viral, fungal, and whatever else can make someone deathly sick. The lower the people per square mile someone can live in, the more likely someone will see the next year after mega catastrophes
Would you want to be in a cave during one of the earthquakes you like to follow?
@ BJ. Actually most caves are some of the safest places to be during an earthquake. The solid rock strata absorps most of the energy of most earthquakes. Unless you are right on top of a fault, caves are pretty safe for ground movements. Knew someone that was in a 6 pointer in a cave. When they came out of the cave and heard about the 6 pointer, they said WHAT 6 pointer?
Anchoring of buildings to resist earthquakes the best they can are done into the most solid rock they can find. Most caves have this type of rock, not all though. I have seen earthquakes crack solid rock, but this has been fairly close to the fault that broke. Caves are not a bad idea for survival also because they usually maintain the average temperature of the area. Many areas average in the 50’s and 60’s and this is a lot better than the heat of intense summer or frigid cold of the winter. The one major drawback of some caves is mold if there is a constant movement of water through it.
Maybe most caves, certainly not all!! Ebola was first contracted after this European visited a cave in Africa… ;(
Speaking of which, they are now testing an American for ebola after visiting African areas.
Caves and old mines CAN be a good bug out location, but you need to know the property and the area first. If you cannot afford a BOL or cannot relocate, you might want to research a few areas near you that would provide the resources you need but cannot tote, like water and game in the event that bugging out was absolutely necessary.
You also need an understanding of geology to ensure that you have a hard rock location rather than conglomerate.
Old mines usually have a water source or one nearby, but they can be dangerous. You need to visit these promising sites and camp on them becoming comfortable with the area.
One hard rock mine I have visited between Phoenix and Prescott was literally carved out of solid rock, is large with a couple of rooms near the entrance, has a good water source, and arable land (but I would recommend a raised bed set up).
I have NO doubt that this location could withstand a sizable earthquake and/or shelling; and it would be a great place to set up shop to escape radiation/fallout.
The one disadvantage is that it is fairly remote on a four wheel drive road. I believe you would need to be there to get there (or live nearby) when SHTF. I also believe that there are many such sites like this around the western USA that could each support a small group.
Obviously you would need solar panels, a Southwest wind turbine, and a good 4WD truck to make this site work. Something to seal the hard rock walls would make it more livable.
Join a Jeep Club!!! 🙂
BI, good evening, and once again right on target. I’m just grateful for my arrangement with family in north GA. I’m making another supply run to the BOL later this month. I’ll finally have the majority of my supplies in place so when I make my final trip, I’ll only be carrying enough to fill the truck one last time. On that score, timing will be everything. No, it’s not my own BOL, but at least I have a place to bugout to when the time comes. Once I get out of the city, I’ll be just fine.
@ braveheart. This is why I always highly suggest to everyone to try to keep up to date on what is happening and when to move. There have been so many false alarms in the world that it makes it that much more difficult to know when to move. I guess it is part instinct to get out of Dodge before the storm hits. Really no area is completely safe on the planet, but there are places where your chances will increase a lot.
I personally worry a lot about the good preppers/survivalists out there that have put a lot of resources, time, money, and parts of themselves into making a far away retreat that is several hundred miles away. Then all of a sudden there is no way of reaching their safety, even if they had a jet plane. This is why everyone shoould consider putting their safe house within a reasonable distance that if no mechanical way of getting there, they can by foot at least.
Bugging out is difficult without advance warning if the catastrophe is quick and catches people completely by surprise. This is the way this seems to be in the world right. Even some of these earthquakes have been difficult to forecast when for some strange reason there is no precursors or the location is telling somewhere hundreds of miles of away.
The recent earthquake in Mexico was too easy to forecast as the exact same location was hit in 1985 and then Mexico was nailed with an 8.0 several days later. The New Madrid is a tough to forecast because there is no record in modern times of anything large in the region to show which part of the Earth was feeling the stress beforehand. The best I can do is try to look at continental drift and the direction and try to find focal points where tension would be released before it breaks. This would be one spot at 14 to 20 degrees north on the Mid Atlantic Ridge. This area is highly suspect also for the lack of any major earthquakes here in the recorded past. This tells me that this area is more locked than people realize, even though this is a spreading center. When there is a large earthquake here, over 7, I would be very alarmed to be near the New Madrid because a lot of pressure would be directed from this plate movement right at the New Madrid. The delay could be several weeks, but probably days.
Another region to watch with the New Madrid is the central San Andreas. This is the region from Wrightwood, Calif. to Parkfield. In 1812 both went off and both are on the same three dimensional plane that use to be part of the broken section of the North American plate. Venezeula also was hit by an earthquake in 1812 that was by some estimates in the mid 8 to even the low 9 range, and should be considered a possible warning of the New Madrid should it break in a major way. The Caribbean plate influnces the New Madrid a lot even though it is a smaller plate. The eastern section of it broke about 600 years ago and some core samples of soil and rock show that the New Madrid went off somewhere around this time, not a full break.
The New Madrid is also way overdue for a low 6 to low 7 and could still cause a lot of problems because the rock is so dense under it. The people in this region and buildings are just not ready for this. You being in Memphis area the biggest concerns would be fires and the collapse of bridges that seem to link everything. Any escape plan might want to take this into consideration because it might be near imposssible to get to N.Georgia with anything on the ground.
BI, and lastmanstanding, thank you both for the concern, but I have already researched all of this very carefully. I have several routes in mind to get out of the city. Before I decided on north GA for a BOL, I already researched it carefully. I spent a couple of summers over there as a kid. I know every one of my relatives’ properties. Great people in that region and it is very survivable. I’ve known about north GA all my life and know it’s a very good location to relocate to. I’ve already practiced through various scenarios for escaping out of the city. Escaping in some cases will be difficult, but not impossible. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
RBH. Don’t underestimate what it will take to get out of the city for one moment.
I would like to think that there is no way that they could shut cities down quickly.
I will be the fucking sheeple that blocks your escape.
“don’t go down without one helluva fight”…I know you won’t.
BI, quick note — got your email and should make that happen in the next 2 – 3 days. Thanks!!
Yet Ferfal, who survived the meltdown in Argentina, noted that the remote areas got it the worst, whereas the large cities were pandered to more. It seems to me it all depends if it is a TEOTWAKI event, or else a slower, grinding economic, Argentina/Greece style meltdown. He indicates the isolated homesteads had a lot of attacks, violence, etc. Meanwhile, I would love to be rural. However, I would have no money, no job, no nothing. So, I try to remain on the far periphery of a large city, where I can continue to work, yet not be in the direct line of fire
Selco from shtfschool said the opposite. A rural area is the place to be and I respectfully agree with him. It makes sense, a well, land to farm on, no large population close by, less risk of confrontation, game to hunt, nice fresh air, no traffic, no noise, no hustle or bustle…even if no shtf happens its the place to be. Working towards that dream. 🙂
If I have to live in a cave, I want it to look like this — just not a tourist attraction LOL! http://theholeintherock.com/index.html
http://www.survivalrealty.com/
Some pretty nice places on this site.
Thats a great site as well, I highly recommend listing both on Rawles site and ours! I actually started survivalrealty.com about six years ago with Jim Rawles and he now owns it. The nice thing about the new site is that it’s user friendly, allowing a seller to upload and manage the listing (FSBO or Realtor) from their own computer, it also allows up to 100 photos and 4 videos. That’s the main reason we built it. Use both Survivalrealty.com and StrategicRelocation.com as tools for retreat shopping! TS
One of my favorite properties listed on survivalrealty was one that had a 600′ abandoned railroad tunnel. That would make a huge root cellar, wine cellar, and home. The only problem was that you could see it easily on Google Earth.
The one in Stehekin was awesome as well.
I think one of the most important criteria to consider in a bug out location, or permanent location is winter weather and off the grid for the entire winter. Forget the luxury of of electricity, or LP Gas being delivered to you property in a full grid down situation for years, or even using solar as a backup, if it should break down and a the availability fresh supply of batteries and parts every few years. Unless you have a great endless supply of firewood readily available for at least 6 months of the year, year after year, including cooking heat for 365 days, it would be wise to consider a warmer climate. Even with wood, you would need at least 2 wood stoves, heat and cooking. And heating water to bathe. I have spent time in a hunting camp for a week and it is amazing how much wood we went through. When procuring wood, cut what you think you may need for the entire winter season, then double that supply. Being remote sounds romantic, just star out camping off the grid for a few weeks, or even during winter and you will learn a lot. Being cold sucks. There is no perfect place, as you will find many people already there. Winter climates also have shorter growing seasons, so what will you eat off the land in a self sustained situation. Good Luck All!!
Prepare for Upcoming Power Grid failures: Real Deal.

That’s one of the advantages for Joel’s and Jim’s sites, being able to list the specific advantages the home offers.
We built in the upper Midwest, off-grid (solar/wind), 8″ reinforced insulated concrete form, passive solar, home. We heat with wood, and use less than a standard home half it’s size does. If the forecast is for clear skies and a 30 degree high that day, I let last night’s fire die out, and don’t have to light another until well after dark, and the inside temp never falls below 65. It borders federal land on 3 sides, a single $20 cutting permit for 5 cords each year gives us our 3 cords for that winter and a couple cords left over – been doing that for 7 years. Personally I’d rather be cold than too hot, and security is a lot less of a concern when there’s 3 feet of snow on the roads and no snow plows running (except mine). But to each his own.
HighnDry…We must be close by.
Excellent points!
I agree it will be very difficult to survive, BUT those that can and have been will have a VERY BIG advantage.
Please entertain my perspectives. If a SHTF the largely populated areas after a few weeks of going through urban war conflicts, hunger, thirst, injury, mental trauma of combat, disease…etc. How many will have the strength to trek 50, 70, 100+ miles of -20 degree weather to go and look for sanctuary outside of their urban surroundings? How many will have the gear, food, medicine and skills to take that risk?
What direction do they go? They have no insight, no training…its all instinct out of desperation. The majority, “IF” they decide to leave the urban jungle will do so out of necessity and how many will survive? In winter they will freeze, in summer the sun will consume them as not one single person could carry that much water. On a side note to keep some good water filters around.
Winter can be an ally. Just my 2 cents.
One thing I would like to see, is that they quietly ferret out any liberals or progressives… These properties should ONLY go to true conservatives, so that we will be the ones that will rebuild the country on a strong foundation!
Well heck yes lawyers are looking to hide out. Society is sick of them and their shenanigans. The three lowest forms of life on the planet are bankers, lawyers, and politicians, in no particular order.
My thoughts too. They might be better off changing their names also. The colleges keep shittin em out though.
Actually Wilson, they are three sub species of the dreaded homo-ewrecktus narcicstus… a sloth like animal that feeds on the placenta of the Coypu…
Just a little FYI.. 😉

I’m thinking this is going to be a great site to use. I am thankful for the information being made available without all of the usual hassles and pushiness of real estate salespeople. Thanks to Joel and Todd.
Does anybody remember back in the 50s when everybody was digging nuclear bomb bunkers?
Sounds a little like the same thing, only a different day.
my dad did one of those when we lived in a burb of chicago. turned out to be a great fort for all us kids. i had my first kiss in there too.
Hammerun and Wrong, when I was 5 years old, my older brother and I helped our Dad build a bomb shelter in our basement and stocked it with supplies because a Russian lunatic named Nikita Khruschev sent some nuclear-armed missiles to Cuba; thus the Cuban Missile Crisis. That was my first contact with what we call prepping today and definitely left an impression on my young mind. It was also a fort for me and the neighborhood kids. I had my first date in there also. {SIGH] those were the days.
Sometimes I think the best bug out place is being Mobile, or at least the availability to move to a safer location at my choosing if I needed. Sinking all your money into one location then have to abandon it for being over run would suck. I have looked at the 38’to 40′ Ft RV’s, but then think they are too big and hard to hide if needed. So maybe a smaller one like a 28 to 32 footer where I could throw a Camo’d parachute over it for seclusion. Diesel if possible, and if I eventually found some land out there while roaming around, I’d buy it, or pay rent on someone else’s land, then I would park the RV and it would already be my home, and pitch in with the work on someone else’s homestead or as aback up armed hired hand for security. If it was my land then build a large steel frame barn to park the RV in and live in the shelter and RV. Use the large roof for solar and rain catch. Drill a well and build a barn around the well. Then if times get hairy, drive off to another location. That too sounds romantic enough, but we all need to think out of the box, and have flexibility in our choices. You can buy large 40Ft Steel Containers that people make homesteads out of. For about $4k to 5K each per 40Ft container. You can stack them or arrange them in a box formation for a great security retreat. Ytube has some great vids on that. Welding skills will come in real handy by then. See you all at the finish line.
Hey Braveheart, Eisenturd has all his sexual experiences in shelters like that – scares the hell outta him too, cos it’s dark in there and he is all by himself …..
Aussie
That’s funny but true.
The poor kid would have only his PP. To swear at and call old and useless.
— Miss Dee Dee
Howdy, Aussie. I don’t care what Eisenturd does as long as he stays away from our site.
They were still selling them in the early 1960s. Our local county fair had one installed in the ground near the road intersection. I remember that the entrance tube and hatch were painted red. Some company was selling them and letting people tour the demo model. I believe the company dug up the shelter and took it with them the next week to another county fair.
There’s a Burger King sitting over that site now. That intersection used to be six miles out of town. Now there’s Burger King, McDonald’s, service stations, etc.
Thankfully, they were never used. There is a possibility that there will be a spiritual revival and renewal in the west, and all this preparedness will not have been needed. On the other hand, the Jews in Germany in 1934 thought it would all “blow over,” too. Preparedness is simply taking personal responsibility for a range of possibilities, and not expecting others to bail you out. It is called “being and adult.”
I still feel that Cajun Country is one of the best places to be when SHTF and TEOTWAWKI occurs. We had a cool Fourth weekend and a family get together in Baton Rouge and the weather really cooperated. Even the folks from California and Florida were ready to move to Louisiana.
There are more and more like minded people here, people of the earth with plenty of earth smarts. We have been surviving in the swamps, marshlands, bayous and boucou woodlands for centuries.
We had some good eating at the Fourth and Family Reunion which included jambalaya, fried pickles, jalepenos, onions, freedom fries, okra, fish, crawfish, shrimp, local oysters, alligator, and something new for me – fried shrimp-heads which tasted like soft-shell crabs. We had some great barbecue ribs and potato salad, gumbo. Don’t everyone rush down here, but, whether you are serious or simply out to have some fun, Louisiana is the place to come, especially southern Louisiana! “Laissez les bons temps rouler” (Lazay-Lay Bon-Tom Roulay).
Thanks MAC for telling us about this new site. I will definitely be checking it out. Remember, three is two, two is one, and one is none.
Louisiana Eagle.
Good point LaEagle. I used to work and travel in La. and the people were very nice, generous, and helpful, if you didn’t piss them off. Not necessarily the people in New Orleans or Baton Rouge, but the Cajun or Coon—- folks as they liked to call themselves were great.
Skeptic, Thanks for the kind and true comments. We call ourselves Cajun or Coonass andwe are appreciative of our heritage. Our food, our music, our culture, are uniquely tied to the land and its people but we are by no means isolated from the rest of the country or even the world. You can reach us by land, water, or by air. Come back again soon to beautiful Louisiana.
My French is a lot rusty but, “Let the good times roll”?
SP, You are absolutely right!
Cajun country extends from SE Texas, Beaumont area to southern MS. People down here, especially in the country, are the salt of the earth. You are welcome to come visit us and see for yourself. July and August can get very hot and humid but that is the case for most of the US. The growing season is long and crops like rice and sugarcane do well here. It is a paradise for someone with a green thumb. Many tropical and subtropical fruit do well here. Come check us out sometime and through good times and bad, ‘Let the good times roll!’
LAEagle: Major Earth Changes will occur during my lifetime and yours. When these changes hit, Cajun country will be underwater. Find some high ground several thousand feet above current sea level.
Relocate now if possible. 🙁
DK,
Thanks for your advice. I always appreciate what you have to say and your unique insight into current affairs. I have seen maps anticipating what would happen if the seas began to rise and it does not look good for most of the Mississippi delta region and all the way up to Memphis and into Arkansas. It is hard to fully comprehend such a ‘Major Earth Change’ but anything is possible. I had a friend who lived on a sailboat, perhaps that could be an option. I would love to have a retreat in the high country. I have been looking for one but have not found one yet. Every location has its pros and cons. Perhaps an abundance of water and fish would be preferable to none. Will need to look into technology that converts sea water into energy, desalination, etc. What are the comparative chances of the supervalcano and Yellowstone blowing vs the Mississippi Delta and Louisiana getting submerged by rising oceans. If we have a new Ice Age, will the higher elevations be able to sustain life and agriculture? What are the chances of glaciers forming destroying much of the land currently being farmed? Isn’t there a promise in the Bible that says God would never destroy the earth again like what happened in Noah’s time? I don’t know. These are some of my random thoughts on the matter. I would love to hear more on what you think. Perhaps Be Informed could enlighten us more regarding these possible scenarios. The Greenpeace guy recently made a comment that he was more afraid of the cold.
“Three is two, two is one, and one is none!” Keep praying, preparing, prepping and planning.
Louisiana Eagle
LaEagle,
You’re one lucky man. I’m happy for you.
I also enjoy your posts.
Thank You.
— Miss Dee Dee
Miss DeeDee,
Thanks. Louisiana is a very special place with unique people, culture, food, and climate. The people here have a very special relationship with the land and have learned to do well off the land and the waters in and around us. No starving people here! I always appreciate your posts as well.
Louisiana Eagle
Love Louisiana, traveled through there several times, got the recipe years ago for jambalaya from a good friend from Baton Rouge it’s been on the menu for Christmas dinner ever since.
gatheringbird,
Thanks. Jambalaya, a food of the common people down here, definitely is one of my favorite main dishes. It really is not that hard to cook and of course every cook has his own unique variation. ‘Red Beans and Rice’, and ‘Gumbo’ are some of my other favorite staples. Some of our cusine may not be readily duplicated elsewhere as many of the ingredients come from our land and our waters. Our different chilli sauces, such as Tabasco Sauce, Crystal Hot Sauce, and our unique spice combinations, such as Tony Chachare’s Creole Seasoning are worth stockpiling for when the SHTF and with minimal effort will give new life to any dish you may prepare.
Louisiana Eagle
I agree Confederate. This info may just be a little to late.
I knew several couples from the 1990’s who had a retreat, prepped, etc. who are now in the cemetery, died of old age. All their efforts were in vain and a burden to their heirs who had to unload the property, etc. at a loss. We choose to stay in the city for convenience and amenities. We will stand our ground if and when the time comes. A friend lives in Idaho, near where retreat land was sold and one of the main promoters passed away last yr, heavily involved in prepping. His name was Jack McLamb. His efforts were in vain. Some of us are too old to make changes except to do the best we can where we live now.
Laura, I am a wee bit disappointed in your post.
Self sufficiency is never in vain, it is a form
of life enhancement and personal satisfaction.
It’s not that we all die, but how well we lived.
There’s really no such thing as being too old.
As long as we are taking a breath, we are ageless.
True, Laura. There is a very high chance that preparations will not be used, as in this case. It is called “being and adult.” Meanwhile, how were things “sold at a loss??” I inherited nothing from my grandparents on either side, and with three out of four parents for my wife and I gone, virtually nothing there, either. But if I DID get property, etc., that came to me FREE, even if they, say, paid $200k and I got $150k for it,I would be counting my lucky stars. I really don’t get what you are saying at all. The grandparents live through the depression, and they did their due diligence and what was reasonable. For those inheriting the property to make a little less than they had hoped really leaves me feeling like they are nothing more than a bunch of spoiled “Yes we can/Yes we have no bananas” Obama supporters.
The preps were only “in vain” if the heirs won’t prep. I still carry some of my Dad’s preps he left behind. His efforts were not in vain. He might end up saving my life from his grave.
I’d say that’s quite an accomplishment, for mortal man.
Sixpack,
Anyone that believes that preparing for the future is all in vain most likely is the same person that won’t make sure that their spare tire is properly inflated because they subscribe to AAA Roadside service.
These people are not to be argued with. They think they have all the answers and help is just a cellphone call away.

Agreed
Considering all the articles posted here over the years stating the demise of us Americans earnings and financial situations….
Well count me in..I lost over 35% of my home value(equity)since the 2008 debacle and never borrowed a dime against it over the years…and it has not regained any ground since then..minimal at best..
And I’ve been gainfully employed along albeit losing my last position (due to corporate downsizing)and taking a $300 per week net cut since 2009…yes we’ve downsized but enough is enough!
We’ve turned our modest home and lands into a relative self sufficient homestead with 1/4 of the land into organic gardens..that being said..I wish any of you with the financial whereabouts my best in securing a perfect spot retreat..congrats..
For the rest of us it’s make do with what we’ve got..period!
Hell…I’ve been preparing since 2009..we’ll survive..
It’s the mindset that will win you over the rest everytime..
Ready and waiting in Cape Cod..
possee
Hey, possecom,
When Shtf, just watch out for the folks around 28 in Hyannis. With only the two bridges in or out, you’ve really got a great location. I’m down there a few times a week for work. Great people on Cape. But those friggin New Yorkers, Jesus! I can’t wait for October, when they migrate home. I got your back over on the South Coast.
I avoid Hyannis like the plague..but then, where I live is ceo/hedgefund millionaires playground in the summer…Maserati’s,Lexus’s,Mercedes etc etc etc..
Between the New Seabury,Popponesset,Osterville,Willowbend,Ridge Club area..
I feel like a 3rd world illegal here compared to the untold wealth tooling around here..
possee
Posseecom,
I have spent decades seeing these neighbors of yours in my medical practices in Boston. Many of them have never had a callous on their palm in their life. When the SHTF , You my dear friend will will fare much easier than a man with a load of worthless greenbacks sticking out of their pockets.

There’s a guy on the corner of 28 and Santuit- Newtown road. He has several anti- Obama signs on his lawn. The local gimmiedats have vandalized them a few times. I’ve always wanted to stop and shake his hand. Never seen him outside though. You have to admire that kind of grit even though it flies in the face of staying below the radar.
Know you’ll hang tough brother…as per usual…
“don’t go down without one helluva fight”
Trying very hard to sell the place in Tampa and move back to Oregon. Have been trying for 15 months and it has been a real trial. Every time we think we’re all set some other obstacle presents itself.
Not giving up. Feel called to get out of Florida. Pushed/Pulled. Hard to explain, but real to me.
Stay frosty, all. This can’t go on forever like this.
Motivation is fuel
Au contraire. I have just found the perfect place. For security purposes I won’t give too many details, but let’s just say it’s a sizeable portion of beautiful acreage, strategically placed in a rural location with clean flowing water, large useful structures, old growth timber, hills and hollers, and a good deal of unique history to be honored and respected and continued forward into this new century. Did I mention the dirt cheap price, which has been lowered several times since the property first went on the market a couple years ago?
Right now it’s a buyer’s market everywhere you look. If you don’t already have a rural retreat, NOW is the time to find a place and buy it. I will defend and fortify this location and take in everyone I reasonably can. If anyone will have a chance to survive World War 3, it’ll be my people. This is history in the making. Good luck to all righteous folks in their plans to build the future rather than destroying it, or being destroyed.
As that Indian said in Predator “We’re all gonna die!
Bend over and pucker up! :- )
Great topic!
I moved from my hometown to a more rural area, next to the mountains. Where I was living before, it was surrounded by large, violent cities so I moved away. Big mistake!
This new place is so horrible!! Everyone is focused down, talking about drugs, prostitution, their next government check, etc… it is do depressing here! Someone told me that a lot of the drug addicts were chased out of the large cities by the cops and they came here!!!
Anyhow, I left my hometown of 30 years or so– a wonderfully uplifting, happy town and came to this hell hole because it was close to the mountains and was away from the large violent cities… I regret the move everyday!!!
Yes, that can happen. We try to ensure on a consulting level that folks understand that there are drugs and crime everywhere, sometimes you trade one form of drugs for another based upon demographics (crack for meth), that’s a fact. However, there are ways to ensure that the town you choose is the right one for you. We help clients take a hard look at their relocation goals through a thorough threat analysis. It sounds like you may be back east, where moving from the big happy city to a crime ridden meth town can happen, and there are places like that in the Western Redoubt as well. You may want to look at maintaing a small bug out cabin someplace and going back to the city, a kind of reverse Strategic Relocation, if that’s what will make you happy. The bottom line is that a Strategic Relocation can encompass any move, anywhere, it just has to be for the right reason, and that should be to THRIVE not just survive in the coming socio-economic collapse. Have a wonderful day. Todd Savage
Excellent article. I would like to put another thought in everyone’s head before buying a BOL. Go to the local Walmart or Home Depot and spend a few hours ‘shopping’, but really checking out the local population. You may realize that it might not be the best set of people to live around… With that in mind, here is what you should or should not do…. Enjoy….
A man’s age as determined by a trip to home depot:
You are in the middle of a few projects at your home: putting in a new fence, painting the basement walls, putting in a new garden. You are hot and sweaty, covered in dust, lawn clippings, dirt and paint. You have your old work clothes on. You know the outfit — shorts with the hole in the crotch, old T-shirt with a stain from who-knows-what, and an old pair of tennis shoes.
Right in the middle of these projects you realize you need to run to Home Depot for supplies.
Depending on your age you might do the following:
In your 20s:
Stop what you are doing. Shave, take a shower, blow dry your hair, brush your teeth, floss and put on clean clothes.
Check yourself in the mirror and flex. Add a dab of your favorite cologne because, you never know, you just might meet some hot chick while standing in the checkout line.
And yes, you went to school with the pretty girl running the register.
In your 30s:
Stop what you are doing, put on clean shorts and shirt. Change your shoes. You married the hot chick so no need for much else.
Wash your hands and comb your hair. Check yourself in the mirror. Still got it. Add a shot of your favorite cologne to cover the smell.
The cute girl running the register is the kid sister to someone you went to school with.
In your 40s:
Stop what you are doing. Put on a sweatshirt that is long enough to cover the hole in the crotch of your shorts.
Put on different shoes and a hat. Wash your hands. Your bottle of Brute is almost empty, so don’t waste any of it on a trip to Home Depot.
Check yourself in the mirror and do more sucking in than flexing.
The hot young thing running the register is your daughter’s age and you feel weird about thinking she’s spicy.
In your 50s:
Stop what you are doing. Put on a hat. Wipe the dirt off your hands onto your shirt. Change shoes because you don’t want to get dog crap in your new sports car. Check yourself in the mirror and swear not to wear that shirt anymore
because it makes you look fat.
The cutie running the register smiles when she sees you coming and you think you still have it. Then you remember — the hat you have on is from Bubba’s Bait & Beer Bar and it says, ‘I Got Worms ‘
In your 60s:
Stop what you are doing. No need for a hat any more. Hose the dog crap off your shoes. The mirror was shattered when you were in your 50s. You hope you have underwear on so nothing hangs out the hole in your pants.
The girl running the register may be cute but you don’t have your glasses on, so you’re not sure.
In your 70s:
Stop what you are doing. Wait to go to Home Depot until the drug store has your prescriptions ready too. Don’t even notice the dog crap on your shoes.
The young thing at the register stares at you and you realize your balls are hanging out the hole in your crotch.
In your 80s:
Stop what you are doing. Start again. Then stop again. Now you remember you need to go to Home Depot. Go to Wal-Mart instead.
You went to school with the old lady greeter.
You wander around trying to remember what you are looking for. Then you fart out loud and think someone called your name.
In your 90s & beyond :
What’s a home deep hoe? Something for my garden? Where am I? Who am I? Why am I reading this?
Did I send it? Did you? Who farted?
eppe
Thanks. I can hardly wait till I’m in my 70’s. 🙂
Eppe, you’re the best as always. Keep them coming.
eppe.
Great joke! Very true.
I was in my shed today to repair a portable water pump. Reaching into my large six drawer toolbox, I suddenly realized all the deadly projectiles and cutting edges I have collected over the years. Not to mention all the stuff on Peg Board.
I make clubs out of damn near anything that looks like it will work.
Had a couple small cherry trees expire…grafted ones. Those bad boys are hard as granite and the way I shaped them, they are perfectly balanced. One in each of our vehicles.
Éppe, you had my wife and I laughing tears! Thank you again.
That was good!
For the record, I am 49 and just lost 15 pounds, so less sucking in here!
Eppe,
Once again
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You !!!!!!
Take Care,

LOL That’s brilliant!
I almost pissed myself on that one!
I DON’T KNOW WHY ANYONE WOULD GIVE EPPE A thumbs dpwn! (as a female, I thought it hilarious! : )
Eppe: OH my gosh that was so funny….sending it on to family. Thanks…

off topic: I read somewhere that an English man had Ebola. some are saying there is a 21 day incubation period.
its heading to the west.
just wanted to remind you all about whats lurking out there.
If you guys get a chance check out this military vehicle surplus site http://www.arclightdefensesystems.com
Czec, was interested in one of the russian tanks but as @ price it said contact us assumed if I have to ask I can’t afford it!
Wouldn’t it be nice if we all could have one or two
of those OT-64 ‘s tucked away in our garages. We could paint them Baby Blue and white with a “UN” logo on the front and a small smiley face on the rear with
a SHTFPlan logo circled around it. That might even the odds a bit and make things just a bit more interesting.

NO PROBLEM
I got 4.2 million stuffed under my mattress.
YOU TAKE CASH?
Pretty sad when you have to ask if they take cash…
well no matter where you decide to go
DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST
visit the area and spend some time there
and don’t forget basic needs such as water
the western part of the country is gonna be in for a hell of
a bad time in coming years
The last drop: America’s breadbasket faces dire water crisis – ‘We’re headed for a brick wall at 100 miles per hour’
http://www.desdemonadespair.net/2014/07/the-last-drop-americas-breadbasket.html
You are right, much of the west will have major water issues, both with “rights” and actual water levels dropping. However, there are many areas in the Western Redoubt that have an ENDLESS supply of water, so to speak, so yes, research is paramount! Take for example the Swan Valley in Montana, or the Yaak, or even Northern Idaho, there is so much water, its not even funny. TS
Do your research. SOOOooooo true. You can buy a remote place and then discover that all the neighbours are running meth labs, or worse yet, are rich “Progressives”.
Out west sucks, IMHO. No water. And if there is any water the State owns it de jure, and you can’t so much as water a potted plant without permission.
My Idaho friends are always in a knot over “water rights”, and I tell ’em hey, you shoulda come to where I live. Water here is a damned nuisance, and we pay good money to get it out of our fields. One asked me just yesterday, “How often do you water your garden?” I said never – nature does it for me every couple or three days.

off topic; just got an email from a friend who states that Obama is set to declare martial law in Texas because militias are going to be blocking the buses, website; “Now the end begins” If the feds mess with Texas, there will be huge problems.
being a proud Texan, I’ve been following this as much as I can, Will you please keep me up to date as much as possible? Quite often my computer “can’t show” articles on this subject. I appreciate you very much Confederate!
@Rockelle, I believe this is the website, middle of page, there’s another article on the left. http://www.nteb.com
Thank you kindly!
According to the news, Obama is scheduled to be in Texas for two days this week for “fund raisers”. Due to his “busy schedule,” he will be unable to have time to go to the border or visit any of the locations where hundreds of illegals are being held.
Stand Your Ground: Protesters Divert 3rd Round of Buses from Murrieta
“Demonstrators opposed to illegal immigration stood their ground again at the Murrieta Border Patrol station on Monday, where U.S. Border Patrol had been scheduled to transfer a third round of buses, with approximately 140 illegal aliens aboard in total, transferred from overcrowded Texas detention facilities.”

Haven’t seen that yet? Told you it feels like the Alamo around here!
On the other hand if the feds mess with Texas, Wendy Davis doesn’t stand a chance of getting elected Governor.
Wendy Davis does not have an ice cube’s chance in hell of being Governor of Texas anyway!
Really….George bush and Rick Perry did,
Wendy Davis does not have an ice cube’s chance in hell of being Governor of Texas anyway!
Wendy Davis: More corrupt than Obungler and Hitlery… combined. And less competent. On the other hand, at least she can slur paraplegics and get away with it, thanks to the leftist fascist press
Sorry to say, but Texas will just sit idly by and allow the Feds to have their way. Same all over this land. We tolerate more and more bullshit each day. Texas is no different. Becoming a blue state more and more each minute.
Texas seems like a stupid place to start pulling that crap. What a dumb ass he is…
Most Texans are armed, Wrong. And can be dangerous when provoked.
My point exactly. Remember the Alamo!
Get back to me and let me know how many of these Texans you speak of are latino. I am truly curious what the population break down is now. La Raza will be down there to lock and load against the militias as will our own fucking government.
Heard the same thing will happen in California. Militias will stand up hopefully, but 99% of useless scum politicians refuse because they are bought and shackled.

Based upon my personal experiences while living in rural North Idaho, your new neighbors should be one of your primary considerations. The long-term residents, many of whom being born and raised in some of the more rural areas, will likely shun you as an outsider for the first couple of years. They simply don’t know you, and tend to be extremely wary of new, out-of-state residents, especially those who appear to have significant financial resources. These “locals” will certainly be discussing your (unwanted) presence in the local diners and taverns for awhile. They know you are living amongst them now, literally from the day you move in.
This seems to be the normal vetting process in many rural locations. The locals want to see if you can “hack it”, particularly if your choice of relocation is in a Northern latitude. The winter months can be especially brutal with wind chill values of -50 degrees F or below. The extreme winter weather chases many new residents away, typically during their first North Idaho winter experience.
Beware of any overly-friendly neighbors who might approach you during your first couple of days. My personal experience has taught me that these types of people tend to be sociopathic in their intent. They want your stuff, especially if it’s high quality. Do not trust them (and make them aware of that sentiment).
If you go off-the-grid (highly recommended), then you can probably manage to maintain a lower profile with relative ease. Buy a good chainsaw. You get what you pay for insofar as quality. Become proficient in falling big timber. It’s not as difficult or intimidating as it might look, and you’re going to need a lot of firewood. Snow removal might also be a consideration, however there are usually some laid-off loggers around during the winter months who own a Cat skidder or road grader. They will usually help you out for a reasonable fee.
All things considered, strategic relocation to a remote, rural location is a life-changing decision. Don’t expect it to be easy because it likely won’t be.
Perfect answer. True to the letter. 😉
I checked out my new home and neighbors when I moved here. Small Town, far from any big town. Billings is closest at about 130 miles. I thought I was doing the best I could with the money I had.
But after I had been here a while, my next door neighbor went off his meds. That’s when I found out he is bi-polar and paranoid. Crazy as a loon. He recently told a judge that ALL of his neighbors hate him and want to murder him. He filed a police report claiming that his neighbor on the other side had pointed a gun at him. He could tell because he could see the red light on his forehead.
He has been roaming the neighborhood like he owns every house, breaking into people’s houses and garages, stealing from yards and garages, tearing down fences, and yelling at anyone who walks down “his” sidewalk or empties their trash in “his” alley.
Police won’t do anything. They say it is a civil matter. He is 62 and both his parents were natives of this town. So after a century or so of residency he is privileged. I am afraid that he will be the first one shot.
Daisy: I live in a S.E. in city of over 125,000 plus smaller incorp towns within a 40 mi radius. I have neighbors that I don’t trust to openly talk to, simply because they work for city or fed. gov and will play the game to keep their jobs. (or later on, may report patriots) This would incl police, public school teachers and gov. contractors at military bases that live around me.
This happened to my mom. If you call the police every single time, and press charges for trespassing, etc, eventually the county da will step in and petition the courts for committal. It’s a pita process, but it works.
@DaisyK. Seems every neighborhood has one. Can’t wait for SHTF. It will be a dirt nap for that hag in our hood. And that cat too that climbs on my vehicles. lol…
No Pity
Our neighborhood got up a petition to have him committed, but the police said, “Sorry.”
If you complain too much, after a while, they think YOU are the crazy one. I do have a restraining order against him, but in Wyoming, a restraining order is only good for one year. Then you have to go back to court to renew it.
@DaisyK – You and all of your neighbors need to document with photos and video of this crazy man. Then file a restraining order. You can also send him a Cease and Desist demand for his actions and trespassing, and post this demand in the news paper for 3 days as required for public notice. Then if he continues to trespass or threaten you, you can then file a suit in court which also includes damages for your stress and interruption of your peace and quiet, and happiness and all the bundle of rights under your property ownership. If you win and he fails to pay, you can then foreclose on his house and take the property over. This mass documentation and keeping a written log, will help your case, also get all the police reports and dates each time the cops came out to investigate his actions,to support your efforts.
This Nasty foul mouthed Hag across the street from me who just likes to scream at the top of her lungs swearing every cuss word in the book, for hours on end, drives me crazy. And the cops have been there 15 times in the last few yrs, but don;t ever seem to do anything about it, as she usually runs in her house when they come and refuses to answer the door. She does this for her own entertainment, since nobody likes her, and that her actions, is disturbing the peace and also disorderly conduct. One thing you will face is laws that protect the elderly, so document, document is the key for your claim. Good Luck.
people, no matter who they are or what they have will NOT make it without OTHER PEOPLE!
I know you’re specifically speaking of the “new” people in the area………….but you can’t make people wait two years until they have “your” approval or blessing….that’s a bit anti social IMHO and should SHTF before your probationary period is up you might find that you are the one that is losing out.
Just my thoughts. I guess the comment about overly friendly people struck me wrong….cause my wife and I could be described that way and all we want from others is relationships, not their stuff.
Like I said, this comment was based upon my personal experiences. Most of the neighbors that approached me during my first days and weeks were recent transplants themselves, and not necessarily of decent moral character. They were not good people and they didn’t last as long as I did because they were recognized as liars and thieves by other residents.
My apologies if you took personal offense. That was not my intention.
Don’t appologize…….you have no control over how others take a comment….my bad.
Sorry you met such losers / sinners. Here’s to hoping you meet some awesome new people next.
AJ…Too bad about your experience with the standoffish folks in Northern Idaho. Im sure BJ had the same experience with the locals on his recent visit to Idaho. Right BJ? !!! Dave.
LMBO…..I just sent you an email BEFORE seeing this here post
We thoroughly enjoyed NW MT and N ID and the great people we met there 🙂
Well AJ, you have at least one of those sociopaths reading this website (they gave you a thumbs down).
What you say is golden. If I didn’t have a broken leg and the other stepping on a banana peel, I would be heading to your neck of the woods. Its gonna get real dicey very soon. Good luck to you and yours!
@AJ
your right on point..
don’t forget good files for your chains, plenty of oil, and 50-1 oil for the gas. stock pile it now, cause it’s only going to go up. also screw the safety non-kickback chains for your saw, they are useless.
only other thing I would add at the moment, and something I’m working on myself, would be a good solar back-up for your well water, those pumps take a huge draw. if you have plenty of wind, go turbine, but don’t get stuck in generator mentality… to run one will be loud, and extremely expensive, if possible at all.
good luck all, I feel it’s right around the corner.
DB,keep in mind if shallow well a pitcher pump will do.They also have many hand pumps that lifts 100’s of feet, you set up like this would have a spare and ect. cups/other seals ect.
Good post. One response, though. Any tree over 8″ in diameter in a stand is ‘big timber’, you can kill yourself in absolutely no time with saw kickback, snag break, barber-chairing, splitting, hanging up, all kinds of tree problems. You cannot learn how to fall trees in one day.
Best thing you can do is hire a local faller, show him the trees you want downed, and pay him the $200 for a day of work. Have him buck it into lengths, too.
If I was a young man I think I’d be interested in studying residential architecture with a strong focus on subtle defensive, offensive, and protective features built in to the homes and properties I’d design.
I read an article once that said the best way to stop home invasion is to have a house that no one could enter without you letting them in. Including SWAT going to the wrong house.
Another consideration, though, would be the fire department. If they had a genuine need, you would want a method that would still allow them to get in. But then, if the houses were constructed of some material that couldn’t burn; that would be a non-issue.
the Wild Goose
p.s. Don’t forget your spiritual preps: “Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.” Ephesians 6:13
I don’t have the money to buy a new home, so I am stuck where I am.
But if I won the lottery or something, I would look for a place with a couple of springs, and a pond or a stream (no large dams upstream that might break.) One story with a basement, hidden from the road, a greenhouse, two or more sources of heat, a good electric fence that is solar powered, no large windows at ground level….
Best thing would be a little house at the back of the lot with another old house in front. There would be a fence or hedge or row of evergreen trees between the front house and the rear house. You would not be able to see the back house from the front of the lot. Someone could break into the vacant front house and assume there was nothing there, and go away.
Where there is a will, there is a way.
Where there’s a will, I want to be in it.
Watched ” out of the furnace” this weekend…with crystal meth, etc , be careful who you buddy up too. This is a good example of how some people are overlooked by LEOs because they are afraid of them, and its awful damned easy to go missing in the mountains. My uncle is one of those ” untouchables” he’ll tell you in two seconds he’ll make hog meat out of you and you’ll never be found. He runs a huge cock fighting gambling ring with many contacts across state and a national border. Nobody gives a fuck. Sheriff told me to get conservatorship of my dad so uncle wouldn’t try to take control of his stuff. (Long story–but he thought he could outsmart his sweet little old niece).
Not all those good ole boys are good. They may be ignorant as hell, but the can talk a line and you can be in a hurtin spot pretty quick. KNOW who you’d neighbors will be.
One useful thing to do in a rural area is to get to know the local LEOs.
Learn whether you will have a Sheriff as chief LEO. That’s usually to the good, especially if the post is elected, as they often are.
In my case I met my local sheriff by accident. I advertised a rifle for sale. He’s the guy who bought it from me. Got a good rundown the county – who in my area is safe, and where the meth cookers tend to be. (By pure luck, or the Grace of God, my place is well clear of those types.)
Another thing I learned after being here a couple of years. The really GOOD deals come at local auctions. Anything found on the Internet is usually grossly overpriced.
Your uncle must be living in Cocke County TN…;)
Vetting takes time, and sometimes it takes a blood relation to do it. You still have a sometime of support system before moving to a remote area. Being a Pilgrim in strange area is tough and you’re place is burned out who are going to turn too. Get a deer lease in the area, and see how many visitors you have. See how many fences are cut or hogs have been let into your food crops. Go to Ranch in South Texas, and see why they have 20 dogs roaming the place.
Great topic and posts everybody. Will check out website asap.
Relocation to more suitable area = Great idea!
Relocation NOW to more suitable area = POOR timing!
Looks like the 2nd Bundy event is gaining momentum and could be the ‘event’ that all these war dogs keep wishing for…
SOURCE: Feds to Bring in Riot Squad Against Illegal Immigration Protesters
HOUSTON, Texas–As illegal immigrants continue to spill across the U.S.-Mexico border, federal authorities are attempting to relocate the migrants from South Texas to housing facilities in states across the nation. One such facility is located in Murrieta, California, where a large group of protesters recently blocked a bus full of migrants from arriving. The protesters remain there, adamant that illegal immigrants don’t get dumped in their town. But soon the concerned citizens may be forced to step down–Breitbart Texas has learned that federal agents plan to arrive in Murrieta on Monday with riot gear to ensure that another busload makes it to the housing facility.
Jeremy Oliver, a resident of Temecula, California–a town that neighbors Murrieta–told Breitbart Texas that local police officers warned the protesters that “it’s going to get ugly.”
Oliver said, “The feds are pissed that they haven’t been able to use this facility. Officers out there warned people that federal agents will be in Murrieta on Monday–they are going to get the next bus through no matter what. Riot gear and shields will be used to push the crowd back.”
John Henry, a Murrieta resident since 1991, was told the same thing by local officers.
“We’re being told that federal Marshals or ICE will be here in the next few days and that they are bringing riot gear,” Henry said. “They’re apparently going to be blocking off the street with concrete blockades so that no vehicles can get through. The River County Sheriff’s Department showed up last night and brought a huge watch tower that shoots up into the air 35 feet.”
On Friday, six protesters were arrested in Murrieta. One was apprehended for crossing “the yellow tape that blocked protesters from the Border Patrol station entrance,” according to USA Today.
Henry expressed frustration at the fact that the illegal immigrants are being “rewarded” for breaking the law–after illegally crossing the border, they receive a slew of taxpayer subsidized benefits like housing, food, education, vocational training, and legal counsel. Most are then released onto U.S. soil.
When U.S. citizens break the law, on the other hand, they pay the price. “If any one of us were to roll through a stop sign, we’d be pulled over and ticketed,” Henry noted.
On June 4th Breitbart Texas’ Managing Director Brandon Darby broke the news that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) would be relocating illegal immigrants from Texas to California. Within moments of that story being published, the official Twitter account of the San Diego CBP tweeted at Darby, insisting the report was “erroneous” and asking for it to be removed from the internet.
Days later the San Diego CBP deleted the tweet from their official account. Subsequent reports, outlining plans to fly immigrants to Southern California, proved CBP had indeed planned the relocation all along.
It is unclear how the border crisis will be handled moving forward, especially given that many U.S. citizens oppose the migrants being shipped by the hundreds to their communities.
Maybe the housing facility will accidentally catch fire and burn down very quickly.

Backlash stirs in US against foreign worker visas
“Parker claims she was laid off one year later after she trained her replacement, a newly arrived worker from India. … Now she has joined a federal lawsuit alleging the global staffing firm that ran Harley-Davidson’s tech support discriminated against Americans”
“Like other firms, Infosys wants Congress to allow even MORE of these temporary workers.
But amid calls for expanding the nation’s so-called H-1B visa program, there is growing pushback from Americans who argue the program has been hijacked by staffing companies that import cheaper, lower-level workers to replace more expensive U.S. employees — or keep them from getting hired in the first place.
“The H-1B program allows employers to temporarily hire workers in specialty occupations. The government issues up to 85,000 H-1B visas to businesses every year, and recipients can stay up to six years. Although no one tracks exactly how many H-1B holders are in the U.S., experts estimate there are at least 600,000 at any one time. Skilled guest workers can also come in on other types of visas.”
“An immigration bill passed in the U.S. Senate last year would have INCREASED the number of annually available H-1B visas to 180,000 while raising fees and increasing oversight…”
“LANGUAGE WAS REMOVED (from the bill) THAT WOULD HAVE REQUIRED ALL COMPANIES TO CONSIDER QUALIFIED U.S. WORKERS BEFORE FOREIGN WORKERS ARE HIRED.”
One firm said they encourage “diversity recruitment,” and consider all qualified candidates “WITHOUT regard to citizenship and immigration status.”

How Fast Food Providers Beat Inflation – Add Wood Pulp To Burgers
“As the cost of food continues to rise, the cost of not paying attention to what you are eating rises exponentially. Companies will continue to try to mask inflation by shrinking package sizes, and when that is no longer possible, increasingly inserting empty fillers (or worse) into their products.”
“There may be more fiber in your food than you realized. Burger King, McDonald’s and other fast food companies list in the ingredients of several of their foods, microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) or “powdered cellulose” as components of their menu items. Or, in plain English, wood pulp.
The emulsion-stabilizing, cling-improving, anti-caking substance operates under multiple aliases, ranging from powdered cellulose to cellulose powder to methylcellulose to cellulose gum. The entrance of this non-absorbable fiber into fast food ingredients has been stealthy, yet widespread: The compound can now be found in buns, cheeses, sauces, cakes, shakes, rolls, fries, onion rings, smoothies, meats—basically everything.
The cost effectiveness of this filler has pushed many chains to use progressively less chicken in their “chicken” and cream in their “ice cream.” …
When did these companies first introduce this substance into their products?”

Months ago, we went to the Roadhouse and ordered a sirloin burger plate. It tasted flat; it had fillers, unlike previous dinners eaten. I called the corp office and complained said I was thru w/them. I bagged most of it and fed the cats later. Now mostly cook at home and go to a mom and pop place that has real food once a week BBQ, fried chicken, collards and various veg. granny style. I totally agree with what you said about the fillers. The Health Ranger (Mike Adams) has a site that exposes a lot of food fraud, etc. If I wanted fake foods, I’d eat in these hell holes. Boycott them!
Yeah, I agree, Laura… had a lot of awful experiences eating so called food– whether in some grocery stores or in fast food places. the buns at fast food places is so thin you can almost see through it, yet the prices have soared– can barely afford it! And they charge 40 cents extra for 2 extremely thin pieces of pickles… everything is about money, greed. they don’t give a crap about our needs. Its best to eat organic. In my hometown, the food was good quality, especially at the health food store (Co-op). They don’t have that here. 🙁
Better than cockroach pieces, I guess
I read your “aliens” post. It put a smile on my face. There are a lot of calls these days to mobilize and take action. I often wonder what America would be like, as have many actual researchers, if we had the Constitutionally prescribed number of representatives that we are supposed to have, or the numbers given in the Federalist Papers (1 in 50,000). Our reps would listen more readily.
Point is, do we need government as it stands? I’m pretty sure there is no law against 50,000 people coming together, whether or not all at once and voting for an “unofficial” representative.
Last I checked it doesn’t matter whether that representative would be sanctioned by anyone other than the citizenry. Power flows FROM the citizenry, and someone with the approval of 50,000 people has a LOT of power.
I’m sure government would try to shut it down, to argue the election is not valid or even illegal, but in truth, who made them king? The founding fathers didn’t look to king George to proclaim their representatives as “official”, no one came along and said “oh here! Your official now!” and stamped the reps on the forehead. No, the representatives of the colonies were in fact empowered by the citizenry who invested their trust, arms, and fortune in them.
The truth is it would be an uphill battle, but the Federal Government has a record of ignoring threats to their own power until situations grow out of control…OWS is a perfect example. It took the fed ages to reign the movement in, if at all.
By starting with one state, drawing up their own districts, holding elections, and expanding to a couple more states, citizens exercising their right to abolish old government for the new, would start a precedent, a chain reaction, catalyzing the disaffected in other states to do the same.
It would lead either to the current federal government surrendering (power concedes nothing without demand) or revolution devolving into eventual “civil” war.
The Federal Government right now is strong precisely because it has united the states through fear and strength of arms, but the very same tactics which were used to take the power of the states could also be used to divide the Federal Government. I believe strongly in the right of the states to determine their own course, to unite as they like, so that, no matter where you are, if you are dissatisfied and can’t change the local government you can at least move elsewhere.
I believe these things because I believe autonomy is the right of all people, and that it is in the nature of all people to desire freedom. By restoring the states to autonomy it would be one more step to restoring the power of individual citizenry to live according to their own ways and the ways of their culture, be it liberal, conservative, republic, democrat, or somewhere in between; affecting the most potential happiness of the general population instead of endless stalemates, political arms races, and disenfranchised people increasingly stratified into different classes because of the concentration of wealth and power in some far off plutocratic capital.
The current affairs of our nation, or 50 nations if you will, is one that is the very antithesis of what Thomas Jefferson originally envisioned for America. It was intended that the Federal Government would be beholden to the states, weak, and limited in purpose, letting the states and their individual peoples to develop and compete accordingly, to thrive or to fail of their own volition, knowing that their collective fate and fortune were the offspring of freedom
…the freedom to choose to live as we wish, and that this would be a virtuous cycle, promoting prosperity and growing liberty of thought and speech through a freemarket type system of ideas and experimentation. Thats why America was for much of our history called “The Great Experiment”. Our founding fathers believed the citizenry, when truly empowered, when TRULY represented, were ultimately the only ones who knew what was best for them, or at the very least, the form of government that would make them happiest.
The current system is a distortion of all that many of us hold in the highest-esteem, The Constitution. While a democracy (direct vote) would inevitably lead to tyranny of the majority, some semblance of the “one-person one-vote” philosophy was intended to hold true, with many representatives, for many people…that it was conceivable, in the limited sphere of the “district”, or local culture, that the representatives so chosen to lead, would, in their very person, REPRESENT, not just symbolically, but by thought, words, and actions, the body politic;
in this regard one in 35,000 or one in 50,000 wasn’t far off, but was an accurate approximation of the number of people any given person could truly be expected to represent in his or her own lifestyle.
It disgusts me that instead of people that represent, in their lifestyle, the people they are elected by, we instead have glorified kings, ruling deaf and blindly over nearly seven-hundred thousand people each. We are indeed an aristocracy…
And THAT most of all *must* change if America is to survive as a just and free nation.
I’m pretty lucky.. got my place 6 years ago.. springs are on the place plus I have a solar well and a creek… lots and lots of firewood .. I bought a sawmill and have my solar system.. and way off the beaten path on a dead end road 8 miles in off of the highway. All off grid… and also there is a cave that is only a 30 min. walk down the creek that you can spend a half day in just wondering around I didn’t realize what an asset that was until reading be informed’s post.. although I’m not big on going into caves its there if I had too use it
Better late than never. Do what you can when you can.
I wish I could afford property. Single mom with a small disabled child on SSI. We live in an apartment. I have a garden at least and just being here shows I am not a sheeple. I would do anything to get my son and I out of here. I am scared as hell. I will not give up. We will find a way.
I am in a similiar situation. I am an apartment dweller, but with a somewhat good paying job; however a house is still too expensive for me. The oil boom (Bakken region) has distorted house values and put them out of range for a lot of folks who recently moved out here.
Like the joke about not having to outrun the bear, just your neighbor also running from the bear, I believe when the time comes I just have to survive a little longer than everyone else. Houses will be free for the taking after the unprepared masses start dying off; the only requirement being you are able to defend it from others.
@the moon
normally I like your posts, but on this occasion, I have to disagree. those houses you see free for the taking, may lead to your unexpected demise. your smart enough to know what, and where I am going with this.
be careful my friend , for my house will be dark, and to make it within even a quarter mile, will not be easy.
I cant comprehend the mentalality of some folks. thinking anything abanoned that somehow makes it ok for them to claim. everything is owned by someone. it might be the heirs of a deceased person or a bank & maby forfeted to the government for non payment of taxes. If you did not purchase it and have a deed or title its not yours. and you have no business trespassing on it. And after the SHTF even if there is no longer a government or laws. The Ten commandments will still be valid. And fully half of them deal with the taking that which does not belong to you. A thief is a thief .
The new govt will claim all abandoned housing and sell them as a way to finance its existence.
In Arkansas after two years of the property taxes not being paid the land becomes property of the state. and the state land commissioner conducts auction sales and sells it. they give you a limited warranty deed. There are thousands of parcels that don’t sell at auction because of unpaid SID taxes. go to cosl.org for information.
@ The Moon,
I did not take from your comment that you are going to steal an abandoned house. ” Free for the taking ” is an expression used to mean that the price is lower beyond the actual value or asking price.
Good Luck’
Miss Dee Dee
Xxandra, look up intentional communities– they are often quite cheap and focus on sustainability… good luck!
Xandera – wish there was something wise or helpful I could say, but I did take a moment to pray for you just now. I know the internet is rather impersonal, but just wanted you to know. Do ask the Lord for guidance – He has promised in the book of James that if we ask for wisdom, He will grant it. And our church – College Church in Wheaton, IL., has a wonderful ministry for handicapped kids – hopefully a church near you does, too. My heart goes out to you!
Xxandra The second sentence of your post doesn’t get you any sympathy from me. If your a single mom on SSI. them your on the dole. your a taking parasite. the taking parasites are killing the host. Where is the sperm donor of your child? Why isn’t he taking care of you? Why should others be your enabler? Frankly if you cant get along on your own at present you will quickly perish in what is coming. you likely will be some of the very first part of the 90% who will perish. sounds kinda mean? your durn right im mean. Just you wait and you will find out just how mean folks can be.
Is “Old Guy” by any chance, “Eisencrap” in disgise?? He sure sounds like him! (Woman hater, compassionless, ignorant, etc).
No im not Eisencrap. Look she stated she is a single mom on SSI. SSI is different than social security. it,s dole paid to those who never paid in enough and don’t qualify for the regular social security Ponzi scheme. and since the child has a disability she gets a extra check of that! and I stated sperm donor because anyone who doesn’t provide for their children isn’t a father or parent. She apparently is a government enabled dependent taking parasite. Her being a female don’t change that fact. She is part of what is wrong. I don’t want anyone who is receiving dole to be comfortable in their poverty. Maybe if they suffer enough they will learn some self reliance? Now in gonna take a bit of liberty and describe what I perceive as what the typical single mom on SSI likely is? If she is white she is one of those overweight nasty sweat hogs that most decent males wouldn’t have sex with? so she is limited to relationships with prisoners or some black baby daddy? I Bet her child is mixed race? I don’t post to get thumbs up. Maby some tough love will pound it into her thoughts that her well being & success or lack of it is entirely up to her. When SHTF everyone will be paddling their own canoe!
Old Guy: Good heavens….have you ever been around a handicapped child? They often require 24 hr care and you CAN’T work. It is exhausting in every way possible. If it were even possible to get some help/care for your child…in this day and age would you want to trust your handicapped child to a stranger? What in the world is she supposed to do? Live on the streets?
And what about her sperm donor? You can’t make anyone stay or be a responsible parent. Not to mention most marriages break up when a handicapped child is born…most men can’t handle it and leave. Sorry, men, facts is facts.
Your compassion is underwhelming….

This new real estate listing might be legit now. But, this will become the go-to place for government to find out where the new “domestic terrorists” are living. This is just too easy. Every sold listing will have satellite and drone surveillance immediately to see what is moved on the property.
molon labe
Why are they going to target folks on their own property minding their own business?
Because those who are self reliant and might resist being stripped of their property & rights are a impediment to the NWO.
I live in the country and I am starting to take notice of the world. I am doing my best to be prepared with what I have. I enjoyed this article
http://deals78.com/
You only live forever.
Once they nationalize all personal land holdings, does it really matter?
Its quite common for folks to have their land taken away by the government. many times the property taxes become exorbant. In the state of Illinoi property taxes have caused some to walk off and leave their homes. eminent domain land is taken and only a pittance paid. they can use pollution laws to condem and seize land. The government forces even though the US supreme court ruled against it. took all the land in the southwest away from the 5 civilized tribes. Nationalizing all the land held privately isn’t as far fetched as it sounds.
In China, on the other hand, people were given land (by the government!)– to different families. This land is passed on from one generation to the next. It is true, that local governments in some regions are stealing the land, but a long time ago, the government actually gave families land for free and most families still have their traditional homestead. My friend from China told me about this.
Of course, they have restrictions placed on them that we don’t have. For example, when I would say negative things about Bush, she thought it was hilarious because no one in China would dare criticize the rulers!
Strategic relocation, why bother?!The govt. as we speak is setting up some great camps and transportation to these camps,ah camp,we will be back in our childhoods.
A half million plastic coffins, each designed to occupy four luck citizens have been manufactured and strategically placed around the country. How’s that for your strategic location. This is serious sh;t and obviously the government is concerned that too many dead bodies just lieing around the streets might cause a panic. Wow, let’s keep things tidy. So when, not if, the perfect storm hits and you’ve got a quarter roll of toilet paper in the house, some beer in the refrigd and peanut butter in the cupboard. OK, that’s about average for most in your neighborhood. Basically you will be dealing with the zombies or becoming one in a few days. Why? Because a part of your significant anatomy was fully shoved up that place which will be looking for toilet tissue or a page from a comic book real soon. Your fault partner. The SHTF when you least expected it. Listen up. You won’t be sorry. You have to be crazy not to be a prepper. Don’t wait until the SHTF. But don’t try to convince the people who believe the single bullet theory that took away Kennedy. All the political and economic indicators point to the inevitable conclusion that sooner, not later the S will HTF. If you’re intelligent enough to understand the acronym you have the possibility of mitigating the nasty circumstances your politicians have created. The citizens voted these mentally disturbed beings into office and are partially responsible for the deadly mess they are faced with. Now you want to know how to survive. Or maybe your head is still deeply stuck up your own ignoble orifice, and you actually think that Uncle Sam is going to be there to change your pants when the SHTF. No, no, when you find yourself starving you’re going to need uncle spam not Sam, and much more. Get a manual written by a Russian who survived the implosion of the Soviet Union. This is written for Americans who are about ready to be left up the river without a paddle. Believe me, this is cheap or free at AMAZON, it’s called Yankee Anti-Zombie Survival Manual, it gets right down to facts, 101 rules to save your self and family. This Russian has seen and smelled TSHTF in his own country. Only experience can be transferred. Read and survive. Your brain is your greatest asset, use it with the information provided.
