TRUMP SAYS: HUNTER MAKES FORTUNE FROM SHADY DEALS!
BIDEN FAMILY STINKS TO HIGH HEAVENS OF CORRUPTION!
DON'T GET LEFT OUT: HUNTER MUST BE STOPPED!

Let’s just say that the unthinkable becomes the real and happening. Let’s take this article and go over it. This will be a segment in three parts, the next ones being immediate actions taken at work and at home. I’m hitting on traveling first, as there are so many vacationers jaunting around happily over the landscape. All kidding aside, traffic is congested during the summer, extending traveling time on the commutes. Let’s game the scenario, and here it is.
You’re cruising down the highway in your 2013 four-door sedan, having just dropped the kids off twenty minutes ago to the swim club. Now you’re on the open highway with a heavy traffic flow…about 5 miles from the edge of town and 7 miles from work. You’re listening to the radio, when suddenly it crackles and goes dead, along with your engine. You look around and pumping the brakes manage to slow down and then drive off the road onto the shoulder, just feet away from the back bumper of another vehicle.
The vehicle comes to a stop, and you try the ignition again. You look at your watch, a Casio G-Shock, to find there is no display. You reach for your cell phone. Nothing. It’s dead. There are perhaps a dozen cars around you…half to your front and half to your rear. All of them have stopped, and most of the drivers have gotten out. You hear the sound of an engine, and looking up, see a ’58 Ford pickup truck weaving in and out of the stalled traffic, moving toward your rear, away from town. The book “One Second After” has just played out in real life. The United States has been attacked by an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) weapon. You’re 15 miles from home, and the “S” has hit the fan.
On Friday 7/29/17, North Korea just successfully tested an ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) and experts from four different countries including the U.S. have determined that they have the capability of striking the U.S. anywhere. That means the optimal point for an EMP strike (dead center of the continental U.S., at 300 km above ground) is not only their prime target but also attainable.
Back to our scenario. Most will be clueless and unprepared. Let’s do it up, down and dirty with the steps that you should take if you are “Citizen X” outlined in the scenario:
1. Have a plan already in place: That means to formulate one right now, if you haven’t already done so.
2. If there are a lot of people around, such as in the scenario, then immediately grab your gear and get out of there. What gear, you may ask? We’ve “gamed” much of this to the point of nausea, but let’s list out those essentials:
“Go/Bug Out Bag”: This guy already needs to be packed and ready, in that vehicle that will become a 3,000-lb. paperweight. Three days’ supply of ready-to-eat food, one day’s worth of water and the means to filter more. Compass, flashlight, knife, first aid kit, poncho, jacket/sweatshirt, extra socks, map, light sleeping bag, fire starting material, small fishing kit (hooks, line, bobber), sewing kit, MSW (Minor Surgical Wound) kit, extra cash ($20 denominations and smaller), ground pad, extra clothing (hat, OG bandana, etc.), and ammo. An EMP may be followed by radiological and nuclear consequences. Having an NBC gas mask and anti-radiation pills in your vehicle could be a lifesaver.
Weapon: Please don’t feed me “legal information,” or “I can’t do that in my state.” These are “sink or swim” rules. If you don’t have a weapon now, you may not have one later. If you don’t have the fortitude to take that weapon and be ready to use it when the time comes, then you probably won’t survive this or be able to help your family. One rifle, one pistol, with ammo for each.
Grab that bag and put it on, securing your weapons. Then secure the vehicle, closing the windows and locking it up. If nobody is around, throw it into neutral and push it off the road. Camouflage it with branches and leaves…taking care not to cut them from the immediate area that you stash it. Most likely it’ll be “violated,” so now is the time to take the stuff you need and get it out. If the scenario above applies, just secure the vehicle and get out of there.
3. Traveling: Do not walk on the roads. Skirt the road with about 50 meters (that’s about 150 feet) between you and the edge of the road. Stay away from people unless you know them and trust them…both qualities are emboldened.
4. For metro people: If you are out in the suburbs or open road, and you must return to the city? It may be better for you and your family to arrange for a rallying point outside of the city. If that isn’t possible, then you should exercise extreme caution. Allow the nearest family member to secure the home and then wait for you. Travel when it’s dark to be on the safe side. Your visibility is cut down, and so is the visibility of those who may be hunting you.
5. Long distance to go? Forage along the way. Refill your canteens/water bottles whenever you’re able, and take note of any freestanding water supplies or “blue” features (that’s the color of water on a military map) for use in the future. DON’T MARK YOUR MAP! If someone gets a hold of it, you do not want them to be able to find your home. You must commit the route to memory and adjust your steps accordingly.
6. Dealing with the Stress of the Event: The power is not coming back on…ever…and it really has begun…the Day After Doomsday is here. Take a deep breath and concentrate on your training, your preparations. If you don’t have any, then this piece is a wake-up call to get moving! The best way to do it is immediately accepting what has happened without dwelling on it. Concentrate on the tasks at hand: navigating home, scouting what is in between, and foraging for anything you need. You have a job to do! Reconnaissance! We’ll go over that now.
Reconnaissance: You must see on the ground what is in between you and the happy Hallmark home you’re returning to. You should take note of any places that hold medical supplies, food, or anything you may need for yourself or your family. You should take note of possible refuge sites to hide if you and the family hightail it out of the home instead of having a “Walton Family Homecoming.” You must take note of water features, danger locations (cliffs or impassable terrain features), as well as dangerous individuals. Yes, the ones who were jerks before all of this? Wait until you see how they’ll be now, with no controls exercised over them.
7. The best advice I can give: Travel at night. This may be impossible for several reasons. Firstly, if it’s an all-out nuke attack, there may be the problem of radiation for you, in which case you’ll have to either reach home immediately or seek shelter immediately to remain in place for several weeks. Secondly, you may have other family members that need to be attended to and cannot wait for a long time. The kids in the scenario are a prime example. If it is an EMP only, there will be a “quiet period” of about 6 to 12 hours before everything breaks loose and the sequel to the movie “The Road” begins in real life. Darkness is the best time to travel. It hides you and helps you to cover your tracks until the morning light.
8.The rest of the family: They must KNOW THE OVERALL PLAN AND HAVE A PLAN OF THEIR OWN TO FOLLOW UNTIL YOU GET THEM OR UNTIL THEY REACH HOME. This is all going to take some preparation on your part and remember the saying: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Don’t put it off!
9. Avoid people, families, and groups of people. Your goal when traveling is to be invisible. I wrote some articles on how to hunt and how to avoid the manhunt. You may want to refresh yourself on those points, and follow a few basic rules I keep in my own mind and heart:
10. Coming home: Don’t walk right on in. Use a roundabout route, and go to a spot where you can watch your house for at least half an hour or so before making your “triumphant return.” The S has hit the fan, and this is not the return of the Prodigal…you’re just going to tiptoe in. But before you tiptoe through the tulips and the window, keep in mind that Tiny Tim and his gang of marauders may have done it before you. That is why you want to watch the house closely. Best Advice I can give: Have your kids/spouse put up a long-distance-visible sign/signal so that you know everything is either OK or that you’ll have to come in and rescue the family. For example, if the birdhouse is still on the corner of the porch, then all is well. If the birdhouse is gone, or if it’s sitting on top of the post that holds the mailbox…well, time to play CQB (that’s Close Quarters Battle) and clear the house of the rats.
11. Never underestimate anyone’s ability to take your family members hostage: That goes for the “friendly neighbors,” most of all…the biggest rats on the block. If that happens, guess what? You’re now the HRT (that’s Hostage Rescue Team), or you better have a couple of guys such as this in your survival group/pod/neighborhood unit. The hardest guy or gal in the world will “cave” when their son or daughter is being held at gunpoint by some goon.
12. You’re home…Now, it’s time to fight! That’s right! Just when you thought it would be cozy and comfortable…just you and the family and your happy supplies…here comes a whole bagful of “Gummi Bears” down the block…only these bears are armed with baseball bats, zip guns, chains, and crowbars. Armed also with about a week of BO (that’s Body Odor), all twelve of them combined still have an IQ of 50, tops…and here they are, at your door. They don’t want Halloween candy, by the way. You just walked twenty miles. Say, remember that article I wrote about using ginseng, and drinking coffee to help you keep alert and awake? I hope that one comes to mind because it’s about to become a “festival” at your house. We’re going to cover more on this in the next segment.
13. Obtain that “second set” of electronic equipment. Oh yeah, the one JJ continuously warns about! Well, now that all your electronics that were exposed are junk, I hope you made some Faraday cages and stashed an extra one of those radios…or even several, for those of you who thought long-term. You need to find out what’s going on. Ham radios may help if you shielded them. So may CB’s and satellite phones.
14. Arm the whole family: by the time you reach home, every family member either accompanying you (small children and toddlers excepted) should be armed. Time to really see how tight and full of solidarity you are as a real family unit…one that must fight in order to survive.
15. Exit stage left: You may just find that the homecoming isn’t; that is, you must write it off as a loss and get out of there…it’s either destroyed and burning or occupied by the marauders. Unless you have the skills and the ability to deal with all of them, it is better to retreat and stay alive. You need a plan in place in order to make this work.
We’ve covered a lot of information here. This is all designed to stimulate those creative thought processes. The thinking alone is not enough: you must formulate a plan and then implement it. A plan without action is of no use. A plan executed too late is a tragedy: a funeral dirge getting ready to play. Don’t be too late to formulate your plan for you and your family. If the lights go out, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the party’s over…and the party may be one that never comes to an end. Fight that good fight each and every day! JJ out!

I have a level III rifle plate installed in my get home backpack too. Crossing a damn deep river is my biggest concern. Hopefully I’ll be able to take a route that takes that off the table. Guess I need to buy that one man raft I’ve been putting off.
My BOB has an inflatable sleeping pad that’d carry my pack and could hang onto it crossing water. Packs small & light.
You can place the spare tire from your vehicle in the water. lay on it chest down and it will keep you afloat.
Im just gonna sit still on the highway and wait for the government to usher me and my family to safety.
I,m sure they have the best plan , thats why we have FEMA , right ?
Don’t forget to stop at the local dollar store for your, now free, tool kit or any other item you wish.
IT IS NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!! Folks, relax.
You betcha!
Good ideer
Received an email from AVOW today.
“Please be aware that we are considering raising the Prep-Con from Level 3 up to Level 2 for the first very first time.”
(Level 1 is TEOTWAWKI)
I am not Mormon, but started receiving these alerts after downloading the LDS Preparedness manual. (It is a FREE excellent book with lots of useful preparedness and food storage information.)
Link to download it is below.
Free Download here.
LDS PREPAREDNESS MANUAL
https://www.ldsavow.com/PrepManualGeneral.html
I received another email
It is official – preparedness level 2
KY Mom, thanks for the information. I just signed up for the manual. Did they cite a particular reason for raising the alert level?
When I get back from setting up a BOL, I am filling up my gas cans. That is how I raise my preparedness level!
ky
Thank you so much for all you do here. I also want to let you and everyone else here know something or at least a hint of a concern.
TAKE THIS NORTH KOREA THING SERIOUS. NOT BECAUSE OF THE NEWS. BAD THINGS COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN IN THE NEAR FUTURE FROM THIS.
I cannot give details on why I am saying this. Just everyone here trust me. Do what you need to do now. I have only posted something like this one other time. Nothing happened then May God be with us all and may nothing happen now. I know some on here will want to know more about why I say this. I cannot say for obvious reasons. I just want you all to take it serious. Have a plan and preps in place now!!!
Hopefully I don’t cost anyone money if nothing happens but if I do I would rather warn you all and be sorry than deal with the guilt of not warning.
Also KY Mom please let SGT, Braveheart, Warchild and all the regular crowd know about my warning here.
Thank you personally for all you do and I am thankful that I get to read your informative post.
Mike in VA, I hear you. I will re-prioritize my prepping purchases. Spices just moved up the list.
With the hundreds upon hundreds of spices available today, it’s easy to forget about how important they were once considered to be — black pepper was once as valuable as currency. We take them for granted and keep them in clear jars out on the counter, where the light kills their potency. But spices require some protection to reach their full potential in our cooking — and it’s really easy once you know how.
1. Buy Whole Spices, Not Ground
2. Grind Spices Yourself
3. Light, air, heat and moisture are spice’s enemy.
You might consider storing the entire spice container or bags of spices sealed with a vacuum sealer (there are also canning-jar attachments for this), or even sealed Mylar foil bags with oxygen absorbers to prevent oxidation.
Spices or herbs stored in the freezer will last considerably longer provided they are packaged to prevent moisture from entering. Storing spices or herbs in a hot environment will significantly shorten their quality shelf life, perhaps by as much as half…
Conclusion: (1) Zip them using your Food Saver; (2) Freeze them.
The spices I consider important are; garlic, onion (various ways), McCormick Grill Mates Grill Mates Hamburger Seasoning, 24 oz (for canned CHILI), basil, oregano, cinnamon , taco seasoning, salt of course (have much more of this)and pepper.
1. Frontier Pumpkin Pie Spice Certified Organic, 16 Ounce Bag
2. Frontier Natural Products Organic Apple Pie Spice

Justice,
I agree spices and herbs are often overlooked and are very useful for cooking as well as healing.
Here is an easy way to “jump start” growing herbs.
We have ginger root, mint, peppermint, basil, garlic, cilantro, onions, scallions and celery regrown from cuttings. Oregano is very easy to grow from seeds. Some are in containers on a window sill. Others are now out in the garden. Some herbs (ginger root) need to be dug up and taken into the house for the winter.
(We purchased the original herbs at Whole Foods. The ginger root cost less than a dollar.)

Mike in VA,
Thank you for the warning! I too hope this passes, but if not we need to be prepared.
Like a tornado or hurricane warning, heed the warning. If nothing comes to pass, be thankful.
Thank you to the MANY who have shared information here.
Take care! Be safe everyone!
Sincerely,
KY Mom
i aint heard THIS yet, but I THINK there is a very good chance that after ONE nuke flies, it won’t be long before SEVERAL more are incoming(and outgoing). the NORKs supposedly start it, but china is behind them, and the U.S. won’t stand by and let that happen without retaliation. we think we get put back to the 18th century without our enemies suffering any consequences.
buttcrack
You are one of the old Eppe crew like I am. Make sure you read my reply to Ky Mom. God I miss my friend Eppe.
Mike, thanks for heads up,at some point folks in”the know”need to get info. out.I am as ready as one can reasonably be and as no family to watch over my time it all goes down will be short.I will see something I will not allow and no matter the odds go fight it.I am comfortable with that, really don’t want to survive if I don’t try and stop evil, then, off to the rock in hell!
War
Good luck my friend. Come to VA if all goes to hell. I got a place for you. Wish I was 15 years younger myself but I am still young enough to do whatever needs to be done. Those who are way up in age don’t realize there value. All that knowledge and life learning is invaluable.
Hey Mike in VA~
Not discounting what you are saying, but why come on here trying to “warn” people about something, but of course cant give any details? If you came on here and posted some shit, why NOT give the details? You already went against whatever it is that you say you cant give details, and if this is truly “IT”, then why give a shit? I dunno. Just tired of people talking about “anonymous” sources, “my scientist friend”, “just trust me, but I cant tell you anything else” and on, and on, and on….
Because I cannot put the places I get info from in jeapardy. If you read my post it was done because I care about the people here.
Regarding details I meant where info comes from . Unless you are an actual person in black ops you don’t know or get detail by detail facts.
You just get a heads up if you should worry or not. I wish I had a crystal ball and knew what was going to happen. Everyone here does.
So you have to understand that you cannot put places or people in jeopardy if they are kind enough to give you a little tip. Otherwise all tips end and no one gets any warning.
I only warn people when I find out tid bits of info that mean there is an issue.
Hopefully nothing and I mean nothing happens. But I will let everyone know to be concerned if I find out there is something that we should be concerned about.
You do mean the older spare tires? right?
The new ones are run flat. Like old tricycle treads, no air, just hard rubber.
Good idea
Yeah, The Casio G-Shock, wore these great watches all my life. Great dive watches too. 200 Meters. Firefighting tested. In the beginning not many people will be armed, and shortly after, and within a few days, everybody will be armed. So your odds of being armed all the time, will get you home safe if a SHTF happens all the sudden. Then there is the guy with the Hot Rod 57 Chevy not affected by the EMP, is charging for rides. Hop on in. But the 8 track isn’t working.
They forgot tip 16: bend over and kiss your a$$ goodbye.
You can kiss your own A$$ goodbye, but not us.
Pack a pair of Swim Goggles. If you drop something in the water you can find it using swim goggles. Good for spearfishing or clamming/ oysters, etc. Seeing under the water is a huge asset. Also keep a few dry bags in your BOB, to keep your electronics, valuables and a change of clothes dry. Dry backs are what boaters use, the water proof bag rolls up at the end and snaps tight. I use that kayaking, to also keep a towel dry.
Dry Bags..
Yes fear porn always presents an opportunity to buy and upgrade. I want to buy a new 49 cc scooter that gets high gas mileage. If it won’t start I will steel some girls bike, boys fight back too hard.
First thing, go to your trunk or behind your seat and grab that ammo can faraday gage and pull out that spare junk yard computer and install. Drive home or pick up the family and drive home. Somebody or somebodies get in your way, run them down. Depending on your location you can stop along the way, ram a screwdriver in that abandoned vehicles gas tank and refill or stock up. Continue home while safely gathering supplies and family members.
If you don’t know what to do next then just drive to the sheriff loading dock and get on the FEMA bus. This has been discussed a million times on this site alone. If you are new and truly don’t know then ask. Somebody will tell you what to do.
Remember these sites are for information purposes only. Believe NO ONE. Take what you learn and look it up, live it, investigate it. Trust NO ONE. Read, read, read. Learn, learn, learn. Practice, practice, practice. Stock up, stock up, stock up. Live it, live it, live it. Perfect your craft or trade. If you don’t practice it, learn it, or live it, when you need it you will not have it. Good luck.
Note – in most cars made after 1990 or so, it’s not just the engine/main computer you have to worry about – it’s also the alternator (and battery charging gear within it), fusebox (because I guarantee that fuses will blow), the electronic ignition system (what used to be done by the distributor cap), EFI (including solenoids thereof), and any/all factory-installed anti-theft systems (know what an RFID key-fob is? Anything made in the past 5 years that’s not an econobox likely has one.)
Long story short – don’t rely on the car in this particular case, because it’s likely useless. You’d be better off having a small folding bicycle stashed in the back than spend the cash (around $300-$1200 or more) for a spare refurbished/pulled computer box.
PS: forgot to mention the fuel pump, oil pump, water pump… and if you think you’re going to just drop your gas tank and swap out a fuel pump? Yeah, no.
Agreed on some of your statements but my vehicles aren’t that new, but for the masses with new to newer vehicles you are right.
Some say it’s only the chips that will fry. CPU , voltage regulator in alternator. Radio.
hard to say, but those new vehicles may well end up a smoldering heap, burned to the ground.
I remember seeing somewhere on this website about a group that tested vehicles for an EMP situation. ’86 and older ran fine, brand new vehicles worked about 65% and better depending on how much electronics they depended on.
some interesting info from an old article on this website:
https://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/heres-what-happens-to-your-car-after-a-high-altitude-emp-attack-electronic-components-can-be-fried-or-severely-damaged_09182016
Fishandmud – Yep make sure you have your “I’m never going to a FEMA Camp Bug out Bag” well stocked. Navigation is huge, sure GPS, Paper maps, Compass, Night vision if you got it. Getting out of the danger area is the first thing in your initial speed bag, like a Get Home Bag with Several Guns ammo, etc.. Also maybe cache several bigger BOB’s farther out of town good and hidden. Maybe your first bag is a smaller lighter Camel Back, 3 day quick deploy mission bag where you can jump on a Bike and ride 12 to 15 MPH to the boonies to retrieve your larger well stocked BOB on a bike trailer. Cache several BOB’s out in the boonies with MRE’s. Great back up plans to back up plans. I never heard a squirrel complain he burried too many acorns.
True enough. But they do bitch when another squirrel following them steals all the booty they just hid.
Careful where and how you hide you cache, squirrels (someone) may be watching.
I would wait a while before trying to fix electronics, or putting in new computers parts from your Faraday cage. Leave it closed tight and shut. They may shoot multiple EMP devices. What was not destroyed the first round they will get later on the 2nd and third round of EMP explosions. When the US Bombed Japan, they used multiple atomic bombs in various cities and over lapping destruction assured defeat. Remember the 2nd Mouse gets the cheese. The 1st ambitious Curious Mouse got the bar across its neck. Also have your gas masks on. You don’t want to be breathing nuke fallout/ and Potassium Iodide for your thyroid gland.
How prepared are you?
Mask fin snorkel flotation device ? A 5 gallon plastic gas can . small raft?
Just dropped the kids off at the swim club and you are 15 miles from home ???
Uhhhh … Go back for your fucking kids !!! Why is your “swim club” more than 15 miles from home ??? Try your local YMCA. Here in Metro Phoenix there is a fitness club of some kind every 5 miles and most everyone has their own pool.
Yes push the car off the road and lock it up. Don’t waste your time “camouflaging” the car, it’s insured, right ???
Other than those technicalities JJ has the right idea. Make a PLAN. Just remember “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face ???” – Mike Tyson 🙂
I do not know how much your raft will weigh, cost, or take up in your pack. There is a brand of dive gear that sells air bladders for scuba buoyancy compensator devices (typically referred to as BCD or BC) called Zeagle. They sell just the bladders. The bladders are fairly small, lightweight, and durable. They have an oral inflation valve so you do not need anything crazy to inflate them. They are also easy to deflate. The bladders are rated in pounds of lift. If orally inflating them, I would get a size heavier than what you would expect as you will not be able to get them quite as full as incoming pressure from a scuba regulator. I have two of their BCD’s and thought about carrying a full one for me and just a second bladder for my gear. You can attach webbing or rope to their bladders as they are deisigned to be attached to dive plates. The only downfall is they will be pricy.
Off Topic……Has anyone seen on Accuweather where electric companies are preparing for a solar storm??
Check Dutchsense.org i think is the name of it or suspitious observers
i picked up a new backpack for my 14 y/o son’s back-to-school the other night, and i was rather proud when he said “there’s a place here to put in a kevlar panel”. will handle that this weekend, i got a few dozen of them.
We had DoD EMP expert in here last year and he said that not all vehicles will be affected and for some, if you’ll wait 5 minutes, they’ll re-start. Might want to try that first, and if no luck and you do start walking, might want to try some other abandoned vehicles along the way if keys left or you’re creative. He also said most cell phones will still work, not to make/receive calls cause cell towers are toast, but if you have references, guides, maps and such stored directly on phone (not cloud) they could be useful.
The thing is even if you have a running vehicle. Will the roads be clear? Even if you can maneuver around the stopped vehicles. Will the other stranded motorist let you pass by safely?
They better if they wanna live.
After an EMP, they are all expendable if they get in the way.
Menzo and SD, if they get in Braveheart’s way they get ventilated.
Guys? unless you’re driving a Deuce-and-a-Half, those cars aren’t exactly going to just slide out of your way.
old Guy, good points and let me add even if your vehicle is still running, gas won’t be available because of no electricity to operate the gas pumps. Even if you have a shitload of cash the damn cash registers won’t be working either.
DB ….Keep a hose handy, you might be able to siphon some gas or punch a hole in the gas tank and drain some out.
First time I’ve been very concerned. Jim, I would like to know what you know.
Good point, Brave!
TEOTWAWKI without cash registers would be like, unreal!
There are portable hand pumps for well water. That should work for the gas stations tanks they unload the tanker trucks into, no?
After an EMP, don’t worry about making any more Car payments. Go and let them repo it and turn it into your Auto INS co. Are your electronics covered under your Home In Policy, or is it an act of War then Null and Void? Same with a Car INs Policy, Act of War exclusion?? Maybe take out an Ins Rider Policy to include Acts of War or Rioting/ Looting.
Majority of vehicles built after 1985 will be toast after an EMP.
After an EMP and a car doesn’t work. Remove the battery from the key fob and disconnect the car battery for fifteen minutes. Reconnect and retry.
Many cars have a factory reboot sequence, hold down button a while pressing the start button. Look that up on the internet now, print it, and put it in the glove box with the manual..
For that matter many appliances have a factory reboot sequence including refrigerators, dishwashers, garage door openers etc. look them up and print the procedure now and put it with the manual.
A week ago my garage door was deaf to one cars built in remote, I unplugged it for ten, plugged it back in and Shazam it worked fine? Computers crash and almost every appliance these days has a computer. Knowing its factory reset sequence is golden, just disconnecting power in many appliances does not produce a factory reset that clears corrupt memory.
Second point, Under the category weapon: Please don’t feed me “Legal information”
Be ready, be practiced, even if you don’t have a CCW where you live, you can concealed carry 24/7 at home in all fifty states if I’m not mistaken. I test all holster/pistol combinations at home. I put a primer only shell in (ok blank if you must) and wear it for a couple weeks at home doing all my regular work, of course with a full magazine handy. With one setup, it was very embarrassing to hear a click and have the magazine fall out of the pistol while I was squirming on a creeper fixing my car.
Point is I found a weakness, no one was in danger, and I was able to tweak the holster and make it 100% reliable. After a few weeks I was completely at home carrying 24/7. That time included dry fire exercises and reloading exercises.
I’m saying this because I’m imagining a person completely ill equipped and so new to carrying that they are constantly touching and giving away to the world they are packing and are totally uncomfortable doing so. It’s how you get arrested, or ambushed and killed.
Another good tool is a quality air soft pistol that matches exactly the pistol you might carry. You can safely practice at home (safety glasses please) and even do quick draw without shooting your foot off. Have another family member set up a few soda cans, then you can try to clear the house without missing a can.
When I lived in the City a few years back I set up a pellet gun range in my house. From one end of the house down the hallway to the other end. It was safe and I made a great backstop with cardboard boxes, etc. I stuffed a few phone books in the box and even took a .22 shot in the house. Get laser bore sights for all your weapons to make sure the gun sights and scopes are all sighted in..
Ever see these Gun Barrel sleeve inserts you can use in the chamber. Out of my .12g I can shoot 9MM and also .22. But you can only take one shot at a time, but that is a great tool by using inserts for multiple calibers. Lots of great gear out there if you look.
actually, all you have to do is short the batt cables together after disconnected, and you will drain all memories. only 10 seconds or so are required.
Do you have a computer ignition key??? That may not work either in an EMP to even start your vehicle. Do not depend on motorized vehicles to escape. My Bicycle and kayak is pretty EMP Proof.
I can pull out my kayak and escape from my BOL property into the deep swamp of Central FL. Throw my BOB on the back of the kayak and paddle stealthy out into the boonies. From my property inland I can paddle all the way out to the Gulf of Mexico. I am looking into a 2nd kayak to pull behind with even more gear. On the water I can pull hundreds of Lbs of gear like nothing and paddle for miles to a remote camp. No motorized boats will be running maybe, so its a safe escape. Practice and train.
You do the shoe sole express. But don’t follow the roads your safer if follow the power line, gas line right of ways and if their nearby the rail road tracks. however a EMP will not keep my 66 truck from running. Don’t have a cell phone. And wish the cell phone was never invented. Now river crossings are a problem. Around here most of the bridges are located in the middle of the town,s. thankfully the towns are quite small.
Start upriver and float down, swimming with the current diagonally…don’t fight the current and steer clear of dead-heads (in/under water trees, branches, logs, etc). Keep your shoes on…they’ll be somewhat boyant, and protect you from stuff in the water. Float your pack adjacent not on you. It is expendable, you are not. If you become separated from your flotation device, you will be less likely to drown if you are not wearing that as a lead weight. Plastic milk jugs with air in them can be used to float a small pack…tie shoe laces or cord to the handle and pull it all with you as you swim. Getting across a river is not hard…doing it quietly if you are not a strong swimmer is the more likely problem.
A video caught a guy in the New Orlean’s hurricane flooding swimming to shore.
Turns out he couldn’t even swim! He took a suitcase he’d packed with critical stuff, and put it inside a couple heavy duty leaf bags. It floated, he just held on and kicked.
He got to shore, put on a dry shirt, and shoes. His suitcase had wheels and he started walking, easily pulling 50 pounds of stuff.
I was impressed.
Joel Skousen said there was a Japanese report that the ICBM did not attain required height. The weapon burned up. The NK’s cannot reach the US.
So, you’re saying we do nothing until they are capable of EMP-ing us?
Sec of Def, Tillerson stated that N Korea poses no threat.
So Relax, its all a sham to profit off of the movement of troops, The more they move around the Globe, the more profit certain logistics contractors make. Its all a fleecing operation. They make hundreds of Millions of dollars. A KC135 Refueling tanker costs $5000 Per hour to fly it. They go out joyriding on the Tax payers dime.
As far as military spending goes, we ain’t seen nothing yet. This is about to REALLY change. SOON.
Kinda like politicians
Grow up stormy, if they can fly a jet they can deliver. No missile needed
OMG Stormy,
What you read was such a propaganda article. Refractory bricks are cheap, incredibly light, and can be easily fashioned into a lightweight reentry vehicle nose cone. I mean damn, you can buy this crap on Amazon. It’s the same thing the space shuttle used for a reentry shield.
The thing no one speaks of is: Iran is the primary financier of the N. Korean nuclear program. For all the money they pumped in, do you think they got nothing?
Word is Saudi Arabia was a major financial supporter of the Pakistan nuclear program. The only question is now, does the Saudi Froot Loops government have six or nine nuclear war heads?
How fast can you dig a shelter?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIV5EiiFC1U
Well, that just described 95% of the politicians, cops, criminals, and anyone who wears foil.
Did you include yourself?
I looked up their ICBMs online. The KN-08 does not have a good track record for accuracy. The KN-14 is apparently only marginally better. I do not have specific details on the level of accuracy but the articles did not have high confidence. So I’m guessing these are about 50-50 for chance of accuracy.
Another unknown is the size of the variance. If Fatboy is aiming for San Francisco does that mean the the miss would then hit San Jose or go really off and end up in L.A.?
The only thing fairly certain is that the NK weaponry, while capable of serious damage, is not all that great.
If I can find out anything more definitive, I’ll share. Meanwhile, I suggest we all practice, prepare, and all the other things we normally do to live our lives.
In the 1960’s the US and Soviet’s used simple transistor, or tube based inertial guidance systems. ICBM’s could be delivered to within a half mile of a target.
With off the shelf parts from a model airplane supplier you can easily build something dramatically more accurate and reliable than 1960’s technology.
On a side note, I was in a tiny museum a month ago, and they had a WW2 era Norden bomb sight. So cool. Amazing technology for the time. The US used that technology all the way up to Vietnam. The Norden bomb sight played a role in subplots in numerous WW2 movies.
EMP & Grid down? Forget about survival…..unless your in a remote area, off the grid, and plenty of food, water, ammo….Or if your one of the elite, and make it to the survival bunker, you don’t stand a chance. It will be Armageddon in so many ways, suicide would be the better choice. The only way to survive an EMP is to insure it never happens. The insurance may indeed be gone.!!!!
Smart people are already in a remote area, off the grid, and plenty of food, water, ammo….Or if your one of the elite, and make it to the survival bunker, you don’t stand a chance.
The Failure to plan is a plan for failure.
Question Preppers:
BTW/ has anybody ever used an Alexpure Pro Water filter system? Looks just like a Berky Filter for countertops. Removes 99.9999% of 200 Water contaminants up to 5000 Gallons. $98.50. I may buy one. Any reviews on this vs Berkey? I just want a water back, up if needed for the BOL cottage. I already have the mobile Katadyne Pocket ceramic filter, a few life straws, and Sawyers.
Any filter will beat a berkey. I have had a 100% failure rate with berkey filters. 4 out of 4, the seal fails where it meets the mount and you won’t even notice it till it gets so bad it’s obvious. Don’t take my word for it, look at reviews on amazon etc.
CSS- So your asinine comment “all the smart people are already in a remote area” is bullshit. If it were so easy to get out to and live in remote areas, don’t you think ALL of us would be doing it already? There are A LOT of people who would love to do that, but guess what? We have JOBS we have to work to support our families. It is not possible for me and my family to live out in the boondocks. Just because you are a hermit that lives out in the boondocks doesn’t mean EVERYONE can. So fucking tired of hearing shit like that and assholes like you that think they are “smarter” and “better” than others who don’t live like that.
Same goes for all the other dickheads that talk shit about FELLOW Conservatives & Preppers that are STUCK in liberal shitholes like IL, NY, CA, etc. If you people are so well off and better than them, why not foot the bill for those poor souls stuck in those areas to move to Conservative states? No? Then shut the fuck up!
i don’t even READ his sh*T anymore. when i see CSS, i just pass on by it. i got better things to do with my time than to read what a troll says. and don’t forget, he helped cause eppe’s heart attack that killed him.
Have you ever bought silver from SD Bullion? Is it a good site to buy from?
I will be especially grumpy at this time!
OK with all the NK talk, ask yourself: What does Kim have to gain by attacking almost anyone ? His whole county would turn into a parking lot…no more parades, flashy dancers, good imported Scotch, nothing….best case for him is living deep in a rat hole until he is found and strung up.
So unless the guy is completely crazy, (and there is that possibility) he ain’t pulling the trigger.
So what is more likely going on is the US is ramping up the propaganda machine, maybe even complete with another false flag 9-11 type event, to justify a pre-emptive strike….another feed trough for the military industrial complex. I feel like there is a 80% or better chance such a strike is coming before winter.
The problem is China…..are they going to sit back and let the US glass over their ally and neighbor ? Time will tell, but my guess is NOT LIKELY…..then it’s game on, full WW3.
What does Kim have to gain by attacking almost anyone ?
Blind hatred and 70 years of propaganda , he believes his own bullshit . They hate Japan just as much as the US .
They are so isolated from reality , anything is possible.
Lil Kim has promised his people revenge on the “imperialists” and sooner or later , he’s gonna have to shit or get off the pot.
Nothing good can come of any of it.
OH ! And i,m sure that the American people are being “prepped” for war , no doubt . The MSM cant wait to tell the country how crazy Trump is , the media is just waiting for something to happen and probably hopeing for it ! NK wont be to blame for whatever they do .
Kim is a wuss.
He is used to banging all the skinny N. Korean chicks he wants. Yes, we are all, jealous.
He, like all despots is afraid of dying, he is terrified of facing God.
Nuking and killing millions of people will not keep Kim a “god on earth”.
False flag or not, people will die to make it happen or look real to gain the affect that they need to happen.
They are trying to provoke Lil’ Man to do something more provocative. They will do it.
12. Bunch of smelly retards coming over to mess with you.
That’s why you need to buy a well made shovel, preferably one made in America. Good fertilizer is a blessing.
_
It would be good fertilizer but the energy exerted to dig the hole is better spent just dragging them a little ways off and stacking them up as warnings signs to the next group. Enter at your own risk.
Hmmm….,tis it winter?,perhaps stack like cord wood for real trying times,Alive and all that!
B, a good 12-ga. pump loaded with 00 or 000 buckshot and extra shells is a MUST HAVE if dealing with a gang. Fishandmud is right about stacking them up as a warning sign. Don’t even waste any energy with burial.
Brave : I’m all clay. I will take the smell before I dig some scum buckets grave.
As far as the 12g : 3″ magnum 00 buck will take multiple targets at one time. The weight is worth the reward. If you can afford adapters that would let you use a lot of different ammo’s out of the same weapon. Probably 12 or more
I will take the #4 buckshot 3 inch magnum over 00 anyday. 43- .22 cal. pellets at 1265 fps. Like getting shot 43 times with a .22 at once. Really spray the fook out of a crowd!
Even goose loads. Or blind them with birdshot.
as long as they are less than 75 yards away….not lethal after that….if they got rifles, and you got a shotgun….they win.
And have the hole pre-dug.
7. Best advice: travel at night.
Sure, if you are driving. But, walking at night? What !!
Scumbags prowl at night. You can’t see your own hand in front of your face without streetlights. You must use a flashlight. There goes your Opsec. Criminals waiting to pounce are invisible. They are protected by the cover of night, and will disappear with your backpack and maybe your teenage daughter before you can smell them. That egg on your head will be your reward for being out at night.
The best time to walk is as soon as the sun rises. Criminals are still sleeping after drinking and partying the night away. Between sunrise and eleven a.m. is the safest time of the day. Trust me I know. Once I went looking at an apartment at about 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. Nice and quiet and priced right. Then I returned around 5p.m. and it had transformed into a gang infested hellhole.
All the children and their normal parents had disappeared. I’m a fast learner.
I can spot a bullshitter a mile away.
Jerimiah, you give some good advice. But, this advice to travel at night on foot will get someone killed, robbed, and/or raped.
Btw, I vividly remember the week’s blackout following the 1989 San Francisco earthquake. There were gangs looking for rape victims who lived alone. When the grid went down, the incidence of rape soared. Experts say that when men feel powerless they soothe that feeling by overpowering a female. That is probably true.
_
Agreed on walking at night to get home it’s a bad idea. I don’t know where Johnson lives but up here in North GA you have two days before people start getting edgy. Don’t hid in a bush till dark go get your kids. There scared, what if there to young to get home, you going to leave them at school. you can cover 20 miles Before dark if your in shape. You and your kids can be home before dark day one problem solved.
Anyone here every been coon hunting and there battery die, navigating the woods without lite is a good way to go blind.
On walking in the woods. Maybe a good idea for highway or state land but out here on private land expect to meet a homeowner with a gun very soon. Your truspassing and now they legally can shoot you because your armed and just maybe “they feel threatened “.
B, I agree about nighttime travel and especially on foot. In my area you’re really taking a risk if you walk the streets at night. Driving around at night is bad enough but walking is really committing suicide.
If you cant travel in the dark and all the lights have gone out due to an EMP…you’re toast.
As you are sitting still..all those nightcrawling criminals are swarming building to building wreaking the havoc you are trying to avoid and in masses like in urban areas eventually they will come upon you. you need to learn to move in the darkness.
Assume an EMP has has removed power.
I knew an X-con, terrified of the dark. I think Iwould have been in a US prison.
The inner city and even suburbia has many street lights, imagine none of them working, millions of people afraid of the real dark and it’s pitch black.
I lived a mile from my high school, but the short path was through the thick woods. On a moonless night, a 3/4 on a mile walk was quite the scariest I ever took as a kid. Most people have no clue, and no experience.
I also have actively been scuba diving for decades. My best dive buddy got off on night dives. We played a game, first guy to turn on a light at 30 feet at night paid for the gas. Neither of us turned on the light, after 7 minutes I could see in that dark. What an amazing world and many fish couldn’t see as well as we could. And yes I could escape by crawling along the bottom of a river for miles in the dark, I know how. I still find myself in any hotel pool practicing drown proofing skills and swimming laps, no hands, then no feet. It’s instinctive. Can you swim a mile with just one or the other? Then try just one hand and one foot.
Point is be in shape and seriously consider night vision. Even a cheapo scout FLUR. If you can move in the dark, and they can’t, you win. It’s that simple, now prep.
Stomy
Do you think the NORKS have small missiles with nuke tips on them on some of their DIESEL BOATS? I mean a few BOATS that have had special modifications like REAL QUIET ones ????
I know that the U.S. and our allies have excellent anti- submarine warfare systems but we are a blue water navy, not a brown water.
Just suppose one DIESEL BOAT gets close to our shores and get a small job off in the air, and bang EMP.
Or our allies of some of the top countries that have good economies ???? GAME OVER folks.
You think KIM cares ?????? He is a smart guy underneath that horrible haircut.
And let us not forget about suitcase nukes that scare the living SHIT out of me.
You think a few NORKS are walking around with some of them ???????
If you have not woken up it’s too late.
If you have not prepared it’s too late.
Maybe see a phychiatrist about your paranoia?
The paranoid survive? Even birds store food for winter. Save a penny for a rainy day. Be prepared for a bad harvest.we have been so pampered for so long. We have lost touch with reality?
And you’re a expert on paranoia, right?
RECON has valid points. You don’t.
Simple.
your question SHOULD have been “is he paranoid ENOUGH?”.
What happens when the “marauders” are you local law enforcement/government and they have large numbers and are heavily armed with military weapons? They will also be smart and have military training and will see any weakness you have in your home defense. They will ask you only once for you to contribute your supplies to the community before they take them from you by lethal force. There is no way you will keep your food while others around you starve to death.
Wanna bet on that Stan? You put way too much stock in police intelligence.
If we all don’t all go to the Alamo. We will surely hang separately ?
Stan,
Thousands of homes and one police station.
The police station is on the freaking local map. The local jihadist isn’t.
Oh wait, tell me you didn’t even know who you were at war with?
Neither do you…. jihadists are here because your masters put them here and protect them. The war is against your masters and don’t give me some god is your master shit, YOU ARE RULED BY A SATANIC GLOBAL CULT. Otherwise this would never be the case. All by design and working as planned. WHO IS YOUR ENEMY???
What if you DON’T LIKE your family? What if the only family members you care about are your 2 grown kids and they don’t want to participate in the game of preparation?
(They are not dumb– my son graduated from MIT; my daughter is one year from getting her doctorate degree… they just don’t want to hear the talk about collapse).
If you are a true believer and can afford it and want them around 24/7 then prep for them to. I have tried to get my sister to prepare and she says WTSHTF I will come to your house. All I could say was NO you will not. I probably won’t be there. They go on vacation 2 – 3 times a year. We go once every 10 years for 3 – 5 days if we are lucky. They go out to eat all of the time. We go once or twice a year. The hardest thing to do will be to say no to loved ones and family members, but in the end 99.9% of all of them will drag you down with them. They will not feel the same way you do because they have no investment in it, be it time, energy, or money. You will have to harden your heart to truly survive and if you cannot do that their is a good chance that you and yours will not make it either. That is by no means 100% but more than 50% for sure. Human nature is human nature. When the animal instincts come out it will be survival of the fittest.
The mental jump is the hardest, some folks do not want to believe things could go very wrong very quickly.I will try and help the people truly care about keep working with them to get em at least a little ready. You can take folks hunting/camping/shooting ect.,they like will decide to get some gear,a good start.Show folks how to save money by buying in bulk/show the multiple uses of daily items. This before you know it has them some skills/goods without even them really thinking about it.I get some folks you cannot reach no matter what, but, will keep trying till it’s too late.
You CAN choose your friends but you CANNOT choose your family. Whatever is left of my family can fook off! I will take care of my very few close friends and wife period…
i imagine i will NEED my family/friends to help to protect what i’ve saved all these years. without help, i don’t see myself and my son surviving. so i saved food for 10 for a year or more. if i don’t have HELP, my food for 10 for a year turns out to be food for 50 for a week, with ME not being “invited”.
fishandmud, same here. I’ve lost count of how much blood, sweat, tears, and money I’ve invested in preps over the years. I took responsibility for my own well-being and prepared for whatever curveballs life has thrown at me. I’ve had numerous personal SHTF situations over the years and survived every one of them. I have no wife or kids to worry about so that makes it a lot easier for me. I always do for myself. I don’t owe anyone anything and no one owes me anything. I’m not someone’s ‘supply house’ or whatever. If you didn’t prep, then you’re inept and SOL.
You can prep for them, but it will be not be appreciated – but expected, when the balloon does go up. They already know you’re prepping, and informing them is a mistake.
Our intentions should always be good, but not at the expense to ourselves and the ones we truly care about.
Giving information and advice is not the same as providing the answers.
But, in the end, only you can decide how to carry on.
Good Luck
My daughter has a business degree and is the same way. Does not want to hear of collapse.
That sucks and you know what sucks worse? She will want to tell her friends and have you take care of them and her bf and whatever else too. She will do stupid things and blow your opsec right out of the water and probably get you killed. Something to think about….
The collapse will happen when it happens.
Fear not, live life.
My kids are doing fine, I’ve prepped for them. More important I’ve taught them.
Just do it, live life. When the lord finally draws the line in the sand. That’s it. Did you teach your children about the lord? Just trust in the lord.
May I add unbelievers get to eat powdered eggs 24/7?
Yup I’ve prepped for unbelievers in my family.
Well I believe we non believers in my tribe will be eating very well. Fresh eggs, chicken, veggies, wild game, pasta dishes, yummy stews, freeze dried meats, desserts, fresh bread, butter, livestock, cheese, etc. And some really great drinky poo’s to go with it 🙂
Well I believe we non believers in my group will be eating very well. Fresh eggs, chicken, veggies, wild game, pasta dishes, yummy stews, freeze dried meats, desserts, fresh bread, butter, livestock, cheese, etc. And some really great drinky poo’s to go with it ?
Yep pre-dig a few holes. Deeper the better.
Cute comment?
The US military did tests of standard fox holes and found they were actually quite good at saving soldiers in a nuclear blast. That’s assuming you dug yours!
Thanks for the info, B from CA– Just changed my plans from your information. I basically need to get the crap out of where I’m living.
I’m female, live alone in a trailer, next to veterans quarters– tons of men! I do plan to give my daughter money for shooting lessons on her birthday… just hope I can do what I need to do in time!!
Get your daughter a snub nose hammerless .38 revolver. Teach her to shoot from her coat pocket. Or from the inside of a purse. Find someplace out in the country to practice. They won’t let you do that at any range. They also don’t allow quick draw.
Get her a Smith and Wesson model 642 air-weight and add Crimson-Trace grips to it if you can. Feed it with CCI 135 grain Gold Dot +P rounds.(Developed for snub nose revolvers).
Great choice! Hammerless (shoots in a pocket and doesn’t snag, .38 (low recoil and good power), Airwieght (easy to handle and more comfortable) revolver (no slide action and very reliable).
CSS and Patriot
Can I ask why you recommend that particular gun?
see the genius above’s comment.
Angel, while I agree with the points of the revolver recommended by others will say this, new folks or folks who have only shot one type of pistol suggest going to a place that either rents them on range, join a club and try others.Every person has a different feel about what is right for them, till you have tried a variety you will not know what feels great in your hand and thus more likely to use it more regularly in practice and just feel more comfortable with it.
I will say you go with hamerless and want to shoot from pocket/purse what have you in emergency then dedicate a coat /purse pocket to firearm, nothing else distracting in said pocket in case of emergency.
War child
Thank you so much for the advice. Good luck to you my friend
Anonymous, where a person lives will likely be the biggest factor in survival. I hope you move someplace safe.
I wish more women would take self-defense seriously. It’s great that you are making sure that your daughter can protect herself.
Do what you can, when you can. Best wishes.
This list is ridiculous. When you get through assembling your Bug Out Bag, you are going to need a full-on camping bag to hold the rest of all the stuff this article talks about.
What this article does not cover is all the weight you are expected to trek — unpacking and repacking each time you stop to rest, eat, and sleep. A hundred pounds? On your back. Good luck with that.
You better buy a cart. A car would be better, but the EMP took that out. Okay. A horse and buggy. You know. That thing you saw on television once about the Amish. Missed it? Okay. then your favorite Western melodrama, like “Lonesome Dove.” Heck. Even the cowboys didn’t carry all that gear by themselves. They had chuck wagons being pulled by mule teams.
the blame-e, IF I’m armed can’t I just “volun-told” some other stranded motorists to be my “mule team”?!?!
“Three days’ supply of ready-to-eat food, one day’s worth of water and the means to filter more. Compass, flashlight, knife, first aid kit, poncho, jacket/sweatshirt, extra socks, map, light sleeping bag, fire starting material, small fishing kit (hooks, line, bobber), sewing kit, MSW (Minor Surgical Wound) kit, extra cash ($20 denominations and smaller), ground pad, extra clothing (hat, OG bandana, etc.), and ammo. An EMP may be followed by radiological and nuclear consequences. Having an NBC gas mask and anti-radiation pills in your vehicle could be a lifesaver.” Plus weapons. That is not to much it is a very simple list. What’s your list you should carry? I’d take even more in add on packs so that I can choose the equipment needed based on the situation. It might be more advantageous to move a little slower with more supplies than to move faster with hardly anything. If your 5 miles from home maybe less but if your 20 of 30 maybe more.
And how many able bodies are you going to have to protect that mule train?
if yer THAT out of shape, get yourself a jogging stroller. it will carry your stuff over fairly rough terrain. older ones can be had for 20 to 40 bucks at yard sales, and are probly BETTER than newer ones. i use one for hauling stuff around my acre of property, and it’s very handy….newer ones fold, but everything is plastic on it. even when tires are flat, it works quite well. next time my scouts have a ten mile hike i will actually DO it.
Lil Kim needs nukes. If not he will end up like Libya. Kadaffi (spelling off) gave up his nukes and look what we did there.
Good article, have a get home bag at all times,food/water filter/basic boo-boo/single blowout kit/lighters/mylar blankets ect. along with defensive item, not a rifle as want to stay unobtrusive as possible but also understand why someone would have one.I travel have fully loaded Molle with more stuff in general, might then stick out.I guess setting up a local daily bag we need to think,”Can we go home”,because obviously if you can’t what you have is what you have. This is a great article in that it helps one rethink this part of the picture.
And as always, remember:”The smalls add up”,sorry!
All ya need is a bottle of whiskey and a bus pass 😛
Consider a grey man approach for an exit. Visibly donning gear and shouldering a rifle may be too soon and you’ll be singled out, as a terrorist most likely. Worse, you could be targeted and the first to go.
The only time that someone knows your armed is when it’s too late, for them and then leave quickly and quietly.
You can’t carry more than a day bags worth of gear and not stand out or look like an opportunity. It has to look like your walking home from the office, school or whatever. It may be 100 degrees outside, or all up hill and/or have to run, are you an athlete?
Stash the heavy stuff for the bush, in the bush. Bury the real treasure.
where i live you would fit right in with the HUNDREDS of homeless ALREADY running amok. within HOURS, EVERYone will have a backpack.
Let’s get real. When the grid goes down, try to get to Canada and hope the power grid up
there is still intact. If the grid up there is down, you just wore out your shoes and got a lot
of exercise for nothing. Since everyone will be on foot, there will be lots of bandits along the way. If you live south of the Mason-Dixon, you might as well forget about going that far north. No guarantees with that kind of event. If you live near the Gulf of Mexico, you might be able to boat it south. Keep hugging the shoreline until you make it to Central America somewhere. Mexico won’t want 300 million gringos cutting thru their territory. They will be glad that Trump built that wall.
I an EMP does happen, millions of Mexican nationals will swarm north across the border into Texas and the USA to reclaim the land that they remember whites took from their ancestors. There will be no stopping them.
i wouldn’t be too sure about that….i think it might just be open-season on them. ….with no bag-limit.
Another article where Friday 7/29/17 was a real day that existed. Somebody please check the calendar on this…
Astute observation. Very good. I didn’t catch it. That is the kind of attention to detail that will keep you alive in a real SHTF situation.
It is important to recognize the initial impact – confusion. You have that 3 or 4 hour window to get home safely. A large bugout bag is going to invite people to stop you. Got that 40 oz stainless water bottle visible? Thirsty people will see it. Your bugout bag better be small and look like a school backpack.
It won’t matter if it is daylight or dark – it will take the bad guys a couple hours to realize the cops are not coming. After that expect gangs, mobs, looting, etc. In a city or suburb you will walk streets – there is no 150 feet off a street – that is someone’s house! And after dark it will be real dark – there won’t be any lights. Your flashlight will make you a target.
If you have to go through a seedy section of town – you will not make it after 3 hours. But worse – will your spouse and children make it home? There are lots of scenarios where the answer is no.
Pack that BOB as light as possible. you’re going to get tired carrying it,especially a long distance. wherever you get stuck, take a second look at your bag. depending how close you are to your goal destination you might get away with with a lot less in your bag. water ,gun and ammo will be heavy enough to start.
No one will be driving. And remember you will need plenty of fresh clean water. In addition don’t forget the pepper spray.
If you have not already then read the book by William R. Forstchen “One Second After.”
Most, if not all, vehicles will survive a 50kv/m EMP and meet MIL-STD for the average 22kv/m to 33kv/m nuclear EMP. Vehicle electronics are well shielded due to things ignition coils, fuel injectors and alternators. the first 2 produce EMP’s everytime the field collapses.

“They will kill you for the barest of essentials of what you’re carrying”
This is the bad news, that all of us our selfish and fallen, that the good news of the gospel addresses.
Just sayin’.
BTW, as Mark Twain said, “It’s not the things in the Bible I don’t understand that bother me, it’s the things I *do* understand. “
We have been warned in detail.? What more could we ask?
If an EMP event occurs, you won’t know what has happened or what you are up against. Some people’s idea of foraging includes foraging in other people’s homes or persons. You can’t be sure of what anybody will do because of the uniqueness of the situation. You can’t even be sure of authority figures such as the police. In the roaring twenties, they sould hide tommy guns in cases for musical instruments. Disguiding a “get home” bag in some way might be worth a shot. Foods such as sauerkraut and kim chi are high in the lactobacillus types of bacteria. Research has shown that such foods are beneficial with digestive irregularities and with autoimmune diseases such as lupus. Practicing the art of fermenting foods such as sauerkraut can promote health in SHTF situations. Also, have cabbage seeds ready. Good luck!
Most of us are probably hear because our ansestors survived bad times? How? They prepped for every and anything.? Only your enemy wants you un prepped and un armed.?
Remember how many WMD they found that sad dam had? None
Any NK submarine can launch a SLBM nuclear missle 5 miles off either coast and at least take out huge cities like LA, SF, NYetc. in a matter of moments. There will be no reaction time to down these missles. Once the coast is down they can fire at will anywhere. 18th century living anyone?
