President-elect Donald Trump has refused to rule out military action in order to “secure” the country of Greenland by force. He is also seeking to control the Panama Canal, citing the national security and trade interests of the United States military empire.

“We need Greenland for national security purposes,” Trump said during a news conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. “The Panama Canal is vital to our country. I’m not going to commit to [ruling out military force]. It might be that you’ll have to do something.”

Denmark and Panama have both blasted the idea of becoming a part of the U.S. and reaffirmed their sovereignty amid the rhetoric by Trump.  Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stressed that Denmark had respect for Greenlandic autonomy and Panamanian officials declared their sovereignty over the canal as “non-negotiable.”

That means that if Trump decides to seize control over either he will need the military to come in and take those regions over by force. That could lead to even more war, and all of this is before he’s even sworn in.

Speaking at the news conference, Trump left on the table the possibility of using force to assert American control over the Arctic territory of Greenland, an autonomous region of Denmark, and the Panama Canal, a critical global trade route formerly occupied by the U.S. military-industrial complex, but currently under Panamanian sovereignty.

When pressed by a reporter on whether he would rule out military or economic coercion, Trump responded with a blunt “No,” underscoring his willingness to consider all options, according to a report by Natual News.

The Panama Canal, built by the United States between 1904 and 1914, was returned to Panama in 1999 under a treaty signed during the administration of recently deceased former President Jimmy Carter. Greenland, meanwhile, has been a territory of the Kingdom of Denmark since the 18th century, though the U.S. has maintained a strategic military presence there since World War II. –Natual News

Trump has also said that he’d like to take over control of Canada, to which the northern neighbor also declared “no way.”

The empire is dying, and if this is pushed to military conquest and war, the United States may not come out on top.
